I haven't said a thing in a very long while....
If you want the best from HGI,use H4 TF and above unless you're an old timer like Wavegarrick, you can attempt LTF....My advise is stick to HTF for sometime until you master it..... :youknow:
Hi Dydynamic,
Nice to see you back :good:
Here is where I am at and I fully agree with you. You have to use higher time frames to get a decent signal.
I am still fully immersed in Hgi and other signals which I have slowly adjusted over time.
Screenshot_221.png
I am reasonably happy where I am at with a decent signal in the current trend direction, getting reasonably close to having trades close without too much draw down and hopefully getting decent runs out of my profitable trades.
I want to start checking the hedging feature in Steve's trade partner Ea from next week on wards. It remains to be seen if a basket hard cash profit of say $150 with hedging enabled and not having the close on opposite directional signal feature enabled, will be more beneficial than letting the trades run.
Anyway, a way to go still.

Cheers
Leon

Thanks Leon...
I had to overhaul my entire manual trading strategy...I trade manually 100%
The best way to use HGI manually is to have your own unique trading style with or without indicators(As genuine forex trader that's passionate about forex, you must develop your own style of trading that you're comfortable with and understand 100%), and set up only HGI on another chart and saved as a template.
After analysing the market with your own trading style and have decided 100% the direction you want to trade on a HTF, then load up the HGI template on another chart and right that moment you'll know if the direction you want to trade is right or wrong...This method of using HGI works like magic as it tells you at the moment you load the HGI chart if you're good to go, and that's the "Here and Now", Steve is talking about... :youknow: :)

thanks for the update Leon, really looks like you are dialling down to some consistent settings

Of course, the markets always have a way of throwing a spanner in the works but hey if this stuff was boringly predictable it wouldn't be half as engaging would it

Hi Leon,
How far with the hedging feature?
I hedge when I'm positive that the market has done a complete 360 degrees on me...Then I start all over in the new direction of price and over time, the market tends to correct itself and then I once again look for another entry in the corresponding direction of hedged trades and close at profit or break even...To me, hedging is better than stop loses as one can hedge as often as required until the market realigns your direction.... :arrrg:

Hi Dy,
I must admit that I am a complete freak when it comes to hedging because I don't like stop losses as well. Having said, I strategically place trades manually and like to close trades at pre determined levels and re evaluate with my hedge trades at a time when it looks beneficial. The problem is that it is very difficult to replicate with an Ea. I have tried this for the first couple of days in this week and because my settings are very sensitive to changes in trade direction I have put it aside for now. I think I could be onto something with my age old nemesis, knowing when to close a trade or not. If we are ranging I don't want to waste my time with trades that are going to be a coin toss, so I want to get out of them. It is early days yet again.
Anyway,I will put a package together shortly for anyone wishing to follow or even complement their own strat.
My screens shot for this week and probably better than I would have done manually. Trading has not been easy.

All the best,
Cheers

Hi Guys,
Based on all your requests and pm's received, I will give you an update on my current status. This is by no means the finished product and one thing I know is that my trades can change in a jiffy. I know that my entries are good, but also know these are the levels that market players look at as well. I am trying very hard to look at a quick exit when this does occur and work ahead. Could a quick 25 pip profit be a solution or do we go for the full swing reversal?. Something I am grappling with at the moment. Take note, my mission is and always has been to have a low draw down as possible and something I can take onto a live account.
I am juggling between all the exit methods and know that my Stf indicators give me a quick exit but Hgi exits gives me a more solid risk reward so I have gone for the more solid Hgi exit method, but will look at changes in time to come.

Anyway, here is everything needed. A quick starter pack for newbies:
My chart template:
Default.tpl
Indicators needed for chart Template:
MTF HGI Bars TD V2.mq4
Stochastic color mtf.mq4
#MTF_RSI.mq4
Please note if you do no have the above files you will not see the same picture as me:
Screenshot_235.png
My UBD template including Steve's Desky Ea:
UBD 1.tpl
Desky Ea version needed for Ubd template:
TDesk Trading Partner EA V3r.mq4
Indicator needed for UBD template:
Stochastic color mtf fast.mq4
Ps I have modded the indy to to suite my settings so don't look at the standard settings.
My TDesk template:
TDesk v 6.81.tpl
You need to use v.81 to look the same as me.
Your TDesk Template should look like this:
Screenshot_236.png
Anyway guys, I have gone through great lenghts to explain, especially to new traders, and following chronological steps in setting up your system. If I missed anything let me know.

Do not trade this live and do your own due diligence by testing on demo only.
I would love to get ideas and am open with regards to exits etc. as I believe it is my greatest downfall.
Have a great week,
Cheers.

Hi Wavegarrick,

Thank for sharing your TDesk Setup. I could not set up the same TDesk v6.81 Chart as shown in your example. Could you share the respective EA (TDesk & Trading Partner EA) presets so that it is easier to set it up correctly.

The problems lied in the renaming of TDesk to TDesk v6.81 and TDesk trading partner to TDesk Trading Partner EA V3r and will confuse many newbies (not me).

Hi Taipan,

Sure, here goes:
TDesk Trading partner38.set
TDesk Master - v 6.81.set
Let me know if all ok.

Cheers
Leon
