Hiho all together,

today i tried 10.3 in conjunction with the latest trademanager 6.1 and the pivot fib levels. So i opened a view trades between 08.00 and 10.00 o'clock at GMT+1 time. I used the OOTB settings with 1% risk. Poor enough its only demo :D

10.3_I.PNG
Most of them worked and i wish this would work every day. Don't know if i should use basket trading or stay with each trade on its own. It's really nice to look at the chart and you can make a decision within a minute. (DO to DP, TMA 60min, TMA pitch, and then setting the SL/TP to the next support or resistent level and/or the shown pivot. If the move is strong enough and the pivot seems to short then i go for the next resistent.

happy weekend you all and thank to all of you. Its allways a pleasure to read on this forum and to know that we respect each other.

sincerely yours
Guido

Hi Don,

hope you just stay strong in the storm you are going through at the moment!

I think also it is essential that we start at the same points. I know that my DO is GMT+1 i think it should be 08.00am EST ? Starting with the NY open?

Guido,

Looks like on EURUSD (I can trade only one right now, so concentrate on the lowest spread) turned right between those hours and headed south strong, going through H1 3 SMMA, H4 1 SMA, D1 1 SMA, on down. If I could just follow the first two, I'd be doing ok.

I'm starting to find it funny that these whackjobs keep messing with me and taking my money. I'm just gonna lower my lot, try to buy low, sell high, but as long as I'm not over-leveraged, screw 'em, I'll make my money back from these ^$^**)(. Anyhoo, sorry I had to stop the market guys, I had to put on a hedge. You can expect almost no movement after this LOL.

Kindest regards,

Don

The good thing to know is that price almost always comes back to revisit you, so use very low leverage like Bob does, and hey, if you make a wrong decision, you can try to make money and make losses smaller. Let's say on my pic, it shows my hedge (done wrong, but it's a hedge). Next hour, this is what could happen:
1. Most likely, people who have went short this week will try to bank profit in next hour or two before week closes, making EURUSD go up. On attached pic (hindsight is always 20/20 they say), we see at beginning of month that WP was below MP, and EURUSD MN1 1 SMA Open was crossed downward by W1 1 SMA Open and price hasn't looked back until it hit WS2 and bounced back today a little. Now this is FXDD chart, so is GMT+2. Any buying I did, unless it was off off yesterday's low (at any time during month so far), would have been low probability and a bad idea. I have done them and paid for it.

If I could get a Easter timestamp to get the time from (I've tried multiple ones, but the display is always Java so I can't extract it, it just displays on the webpage), then I could set it to 5PM Eastern every day of the year, no worrying about GMT or DST.

Kindest regards,

Don

I took a little profit on my buy, bought again higher. Now my range between my buy and sell is larger and I can place another sell in there if price starts going down, or buy if price starts going up, just as if I had no trade on at all. This works, as Bob said, if you take your losses and don't stack too much. At most I don't need to go over 2 buys and 2 sells, and probably as Bob says only 2 trades total, since if I'm wrong twice, I need to take the loss instead of compounding the problem like I'm apt to do. I need to learn to cut my losers short and let my winners run instead of doing it the other way around, which is what most traders do, and hence not profitable.

Kindest regards,

Don

It looks like I'm only one of a few caring about pivot differences - the fact that different traders are basing trades on different pivots calculated from different starting points. Am I wrong?

The issue only matters if there is price movement during the aud/nzd times which is not that often. If price does move it is usually a nzd or aud pair while the others are usually just drifting during that time. In other words if you set your pivot at USA close or if the pivot is set at JPY open there usually is not that significant of a difference. That is a slow time trading wise. The problem right now is all the formulas used to reset the pivot time are clogging up the computer and making trading very slow, which can be devastating to a scalper type system. Until a basic code that can be written that wont freeze up the screen or make it hesitate there is not much we can test or say. I have a powerful computer at home but my one at work just freezes up when I tried alternatives. It is why I keep my screens as clean and simple as possible and use as few indicators as possible.

Would this work?

Code: Select all

http://free.timeanddate.com/clock/i3d5h8hs/n179/tcf90/pc9f0/th1/ts1/ta1
It's a custom clock from timeanddate.com. Using the GrabWeb code from your indicator gives back a bunch of header stuff but the following body.

Code: Select all

<body onload="init();"><table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0 class="tab t100" id=c2><tr><td id=c1 valign=middle><a id=t1c href="http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=179" target=_blank title="clock provided by timeanddate.com"><span id=t1>14:34</span> <span id=t1a>EST</span></a></td></tr></table></body></html>
You should be able to search for <span id=t1> and pull out the time and timezone.

Another note. The context is busy is usually caused when more than one signal is being sent at a time. Having a jump stop, trade entry, moving SL, Taking profit, etc. all going on at once can cause everything to back log. Maybe too much going on at one time. You have signals going to the broker and returning to you computer and if it too much it overwhelms the system. So it maybe impractical to have all these EAs and trades going on with moving SL and TP happening. Just some thoughts before I go back to bed.

Dropped down to lower timeframe, so all timeframes above H1 I have 1 SMA simulated on M5 TF.
