No joy. I deleted the old Empty4 and loaded a fresh one. Even did a registry scan to clear out any old junk. Brand new downloads fro Post #1.

Also tried rubbing stomach while patting my head, while standing one foot and howling at the moon. My wife thinks I'm spending too much time at this.

Still a constant barrage of 130 invalid stop errors.

If you have an idea, please PM me. I hate to clutter the thread with install issues.
What are your sl and tp settings?

Read the effing manual, ok?

OOTB

SL = 0
UseRed = false
Failedstoplosspips=40

TakeProfit=0
UseD1SR2=true
FailedTAkeProfitPips=40

Hiddenpips=2

The errors only seem to be on EURUSD & USDJPY.

At this moment, I just closed those two charts, then re-opened them. 130 errors suddenly stopped.

Go figure.

UPDATE 10 minutes later. The USDJPY pair just started up again.

The D1 S/R lines look a "little" off in the picture. They look more like EURUSD numbers. That would cause problems in order entry. I can't see in the code why that is the case, however.

That is really strange. For now, stop the error messages by turning off UseD1SR2 and using the TakeProfit or FailedTakeProfitPips input instead. The invalid stops are being caused by the bot trying to send a tp that is impossible for this pair.

Not the foggiest idea what might be causing this. As George said, the S/R readings look look like EU.

Re: New S&R indi version

squalou wrote:ok, here goes....

this one will draw S&R "zones" rather than individual levels;

It will group/aggregate individual S&R levels into a single "zone" when 2 different S&R levels are less than "SR_Grouping_Range" pips away from each other.

- It also adds a "buffer" around each "zone" of SR_Zone_Buffer pips each side.
So each SR level or zone now has a minimum of 2*SR_Zone_Buffer pips range.

- it also draws "price labels" at the right side of the SR zones, one at the top and one at the bottom, with a user selectable "SR_Price_Labels_size", for those who are having a hard time reading the Fib values..... :geek:

I have set it to display D1 SR zones only, 10 north + 10 south, to get a wider picture.

Here is how it looks like on EU with DaysBack set to 300 to show a "grouped SR zone":
the pink S1 zone is results from combining 2 nearby SR levels (+5p buffer):

as you can see, this "grouped SR zone" acted exactly as per the book:
- touch and bounce early this morning at market open: level acts as Resistance;
- re-test a bit later after about a 25 pips hook south,
- broke the level north by 35 pips, (several times, go to M5 to see the multiple re-tests)
- came back re-testing it several times from north side: now the level has clearly turned to Support: price SHOULD go up
- after the final re-test, we went north right to the next Resistance level at 3478-3488 zone.

Pretty reliable S/R pattern.... happens all the time!

@Steve:
for the EA:
i have kept the same object names for the SR zones, however, these names now reference "Rectangle" objects representing the displayed zones, including the extra buffer-pips;
This means OBJPROP_PRICE1 will now get you the LOW value of the SR zone, not the "middle" price.

So now you have the choice to either:
- use a single SR zone "center" level by calculating

Code: Select all

  D1R1 = ( ObjectGet(D1_R1, OBJPROP_PRICE1) + ObjectGet(D1_R1, OBJPROP_PRICE2) ) /2;
- or you can go with the High and Low separate values and change the EA to set the pending orders accordingly, typically buystop at D1_R1 High price (=OBJPROP_PRICE2), with TP set to next zone Low price (=OBJPROP_PRICE1 of D1_R2); etc.

You can retrieve the hi and low zone levels like this:

Code: Select all

void ReadIndicatorValues()
{

   //Read the s/r levels drawn on the chart by sq's indi
   D1R1_lo = ObjectGet(D1_R1, OBJPROP_PRICE1);
   D1R1_hi = ObjectGet(D1_R1, OBJPROP_PRICE2);
   D1R1 = ( D1R1_lo + D1R1_hi ) /2;

   D1R2_lo = ObjectGet(D1_R2, OBJPROP_PRICE1);
   D1R2_hi = ObjectGet(D1_R2, OBJPROP_PRICE2);
   D1R2 = ( D1R2_lo + D1R2_hi ) /2;

   D1S1_lo = ObjectGet(D1_S1, OBJPROP_PRICE1);
   D1S1_hi = ObjectGet(D1_S1, OBJPROP_PRICE2);
   D1S1 = ( D1S1_lo + D1S1_hi ) /2;

   D1S2_lo = ObjectGet(D1_S2, OBJPROP_PRICE1);
   D1S2_hi = ObjectGet(D1_S2, OBJPROP_PRICE2);
   D1S2 = ( D1S2_lo + D1S2_hi ) /2;

}//void ReadIndicatorValues()

I hope this is clear enough...

I think there is still a bug in the grouping algorithm, which sometimes may display the R zone nearest to PA too far away south when PA in inside this zone...
I will try to track and fix it...
Unless someone else finds it first.

Latest update in post 1, fixes bloops in the jumping and trailing stop code that prevents them kicking in unless Breakeven is also enabled.

Coders, the offending lines are

Code: Select all

if (sl < OrderOpenPrice() ) return;//Not at breakeven yet
and its variant - 4 of them. Be aware that this also applies to my shell code.

This bloop is nothing compared to the bloop I am going to have to 'fess up to later on, in the Luxir thread. That one is a classic. Watch out, if you fancy a snigger at my expense.

Here, I think we need a round number filter.

Bob, in your template, is it necessary to have the MACD and the Stochs for the indicator to work? For that matter, is it necessary to use the template at all?

If not, I would like to take them off. Just wanted to make sure.

I will answer for Bob. No, they are not. The first thing I do with Bob's templates is change them because I hate the background colour. MACD/Stoch went immediately. :lol: They may serve a purpose, but neither the indi nor TIB needs them.

Go ON! I will believe you! Honest I will. People who are not aware of your systems may not believe you but I will.

The reason I believe you is because, I made money with your 3x3 and 6x6 system, I made money with your buy low, sell high system, I made money with your 4H system and I made money with your version5 system. The only problem is that I am a slow learner and as soon as I master one system (takes around 4 to 6 months) then you evolve it to a newer refined system. Hence, 10.0 and now 10.1. The trouble I am having with version 10 and 10.1 is they are trend following and D1. So you have to give me time and surely I will make money with this system also.

Nice to have you here BOB and THANK YOU STEVE.

Kind Regards
