Heading well Jeremy, just broke even (up +190pip) after 4.5 days & near -500pip low. Expected a fair dip before a few built up equity. 8 pairs open now with two together up >530pip. Your 80% lose is about right. Total 40 opened this week, approx 20% remain end of each day.
Very similar to an idea I pursued with HeikenAshiSmoothed - open trade after 2nd H4 candle changed color in direction of 100EMA or TMASlope trend for all available pairs. I still run it in a SH Shell EA. Takes patience to get started. Checks trade conditions each H4 close. With D1 MACD only really 4 / week.

Does anyone know a way to offset hour adjust MACD cross like we can with DWMPivots? Easy with pivots, use Hi/Lo of H1 candles during shifted period for D1, W1, etc. Would like to adjust hour when MACD color changes to see if we can get signal just after JPY open to avoid day open "Judas Swing'. Most failures occur 2-4 hours after dayopen on Axi or GP which differ 2-3 trades/day in color change due to GMT 0/+2. I believe GMT-1/-2 would bring better results.

Hey buddy you have a trade open which is more than 30 pips so something's gone awry unless you're doing your own version. Also, this isn't a 10.4 strategy :)

Jem's Daily MACD Reversal - starting to make some headway. Equity reached +1800pip but cumulative losses @30pip/fail -1140 pip. Max DD early on, reached approx -490 pip.
There are clear differences in data sources but +400 pip on an auto trader is fine by me after one week, just set 'Lots' carefully. 80% fail may not sound good, but 10:1 RR on successes is bearable!

Jem's Daily MACD Reversal EA. I adapted a SH basket EA to do this auto.
NOTE : This is an equity builder, default has no Take Profit set. Can be internally set, by % of Daily ATR or externally by MPTM. SL default 30 pip.
Each day can be set on/off plus set a startHour for each day. Uses prev. day MACD reverse values but can delay trade open from server hour 0.
Filters can include TMASlope, EMA(64), ADX (H4,D1,W1) & Doji reversals - to reduce ranging trades. Default EMA & ADX(H4, D1) on.
Found MACD nrp mtf gives inconsistent values so used iMACD 9,26,9 reversal and updated 'MultiIndicatorDisplay' to suit.

Lifesys - great stuff - thanks....

Just curious: Could you give some more details on your comment "MACD nrp mtf gives inconsistent values" & did you ever try the attached MACD implimentation?

Cheers

MopTheHop
MACD nrp mtf buffer(4) color values did not always match the colors on chart - maybe refresh - so use iMACD buffer(0) direction change. MACD is simply difference of EMAs. Still use Jem's 9,26,9.
This is just an interesting experiment as I only use Price Action (eg Nial Fullers LearnToTradeTheMarket) style for live trading. Similar to Captain Jacks thread. http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =16&t=1572
Current net pip balance with 16 open, is back near zero, 54 trades were opened for net 26pip!!! -600 pip last 12 hours. As CJ says, simply using direction, you can accumulate great equity at certain times but if you started this before major reversal it can dig a deep hole of failures.
Today ADX kept it out of a GBPUSD MACD 'BUY', doubt will rise above Wkly Pivot before resuming south toward Mnthly support levels. Like most other EA ideas, good to pick up on return to trend but trading every change is not very efficient. Need to watch chart PA & ADX MTF.

Hey Lifesys, I'm going to try out your EA on Monday - looks great! Thank you.

MYFXBOOK link if anyone is interested.

This week was a bit boring. As always lots of stopouts but by now I'm used to them. Looks like open equity is building up again and closed EURJPY (+290 pips) and USDJPY (+194 pips) which made up for this weeks losses.

So this week I'm down 50 pips all up but I have open 750 so I think we might still be in the money ;)

Hopefully these will shoot off in the right direction and make me some yummy demo pips!

Cheers for watching / participating and have a great weekend.

Hi Jeremy
If you are going to trial EA, use later version 1c. Added (i) 'R' indication when 2nd reverse in 3 days, (ii) possibility for MACD Cross instead of Reverse - less trades but less chop even though is known not to work on its own. (iii) optional dual TF - checks H4 in same direction & (iv) option for "MACD True" uses divergence difference between MACD & signal (MACDTrue.mq4 required - same values as 'Swingmans' without color).
(v) re-included AdaptiveStopLoss & AdaptiveTakeProfit.
Last 6 months, in a range of 1000pip, EURUSD is only 200 pip from where it started, so no build of equity. In that time MACD reverses - 27, MACD cross' - 3, MACDTrue cross' - 6.
Need close all when a reasonable target pips is hit.

Last 2 weeks trial (without filters) shows a nice 'green' equity list of 1400 pip from 61 trades, but the 'collateral damage' @30pip/ along the way was greater. Wonderful for broker, 61x spread, net result to us = 0. Next 2 weeks may pick up 3000pip, meanwhile I stick to clean chart, Price Action trading ;-)

EA was opening trades but added TP system was closing too early - fixed. Added a couple of missing Swiss pairs. Default setup in (v1d) seems to be working correctly according to Jem's design.
Whether it can be made profitable is still open.
