Yep. This looks sooooooo goooooood. You Upside-Dowm Landers are coming up with fantastic ideas of late. If I move to Aussie, will I become clever as well? Do you take in thickies and make us clever? |

G'day all! George! Thanks for the prod the other day! Since waking earlier I have been rabbiting around in the Empty4 platform. I found lots of 'Interesting Stuff' (STUFF: a description of a situation or condition. Requires a quantitative description e.g. Good, Interesting Really Nasty, etc to have full relevance) I went back to the EURUSD.JPG below; correlated the dates involved - and put all the data into the attached spreadsheet. I hope that it's what you need. If not enough; please let me know and I'll do my best to come up with it. Cheers. |

Geo, this is an entry qualifier. All I am really interested in is the trend from the pivot/last 3-5 bars - 'higher highs/lower lows' (EUStoploss.gif)' |

Pretty much - yes! George, if you correlate 3rd Duck.gif with the RSI values on the EURUSD_D1_ 2808-1011_Data.xls spreadsheet (1st Pivot and Entry) and do the same for the other 'Pivot point and Entry' values, they should tell the story. |

Good question!! My main criteria for an entry is - 'What was the PA/RSI doing in the preceding 3-5 candles/bars?' The best way I can answer this is to ask you to have a look at the RSI line on the EURUSD.jpg below and cross-check the RSI values in the 3 'Pivot and Entry' data sets on the EURUSD_D1_ 2808-1011_Data.xls spreadsheet. |

George, I don't know how to answer this question - sorry! I am a bit of a 'cross-check' nut! I learned a time back that the more arrows I can get pointing in the same direction - the more positive the result. Because I have only been in Forex for now 6 months my knowledge of its indicators therefore is very basic. Wanting to get up to speed in the shortest time…I applied the same rules to myself that I use with my people (Do I really have to know how all the parts in the car work to drive to the shops?). My initial research showed that Lawgirl has a AAA rating in FF. Accordingly; I figured that she had some 'top operators' design and build her 'Lawgirl's Trend Display v1.02' indicator. As all I wanted was confirmation of Trend direction - if it was working for her - it will work for me! George, my biggest challenge in life has been, and is that I am a perfectionist. In practice I found that, good and all as it is, the Lawgirl indi wasn't really winding my clock properly - so I started looking again. |

George, I applied the same logic as above because, rather than spend countless hours researching & testing to find an indicator that suited me, this one indicator combined and displayed 3 separate indicator values for all the different time-frames as coloured bars. One indicator! 3more 'Ducks In A Row' How good is that? |

George! Mate, we are going well. Coming around the top corner and heading for the line. Sometimes the price goes sideways after a pivot as the heat goes out of the market. David taught me to think 'Inside bars'. His/my rule is that, as long as the MAs are in the right order (Long -3>8/Short - 8>3), and there is daylight between the them; then, if all the other ducks are lined up, the entry is the first candle to open above/below the 3MA. This is where the RSI quarterback calls the play. As long as the RSI stays in fair territory the potential trade is still valid. EG, a Long entry is signalled, the RSI breaks > 55 then goes sideways (EURUSD_H1_Sideways.gif). Fair territory - As long as the RSI stays >45 - the LONG trade is still potentially open - until either a candle opens above the 3MA or the RSI <45. Whew! Been a bit of a session! George, everyone, thank you one and all for your patience. Hope this all makes sense |

| Post subject: | 2nd Duck - the PA is trending in the same direction as the 5 |
Do you actually look at whether the 50 MA is trending up or down? From you chart, while the 50 MA may have started to turn down a bit, what matters seems to be that your bar opened below it. Let me see if I can restate this (again :>). Let's assume we aren't evaluating this duck until duck #1 crosses and for this example (to match your picture) we assume it just crossed down. So, Duck #1 says sell. Now we wait until price opens below the 50 MA. When that happens we look at the chart. If over the last 3-5 bars (minimum of three?) price has made LH's and LL's, we've got a downtrend, so we're going to evaluate this duck as a sell. I've changed the indicator so that Duck 2 uses the rules above. I'd recommend you drop in on the chart, set Duck = 2 and see how it compares with the signals you see on the chart. It's very strict above the HHHL and LHLL evaluation, perhaps too strict. George |

| Post subject: | 5th Duck - Lawgirl's indi showing the same trend on the long |
When I coded this test, I opened up LawGirl's indicator and copied the values she was using to show Up/Down movements. This Duck should match the original indicator. |
