Humm, OK. So if you're long and you get another long signal, add another long. If you're long and you get a short signal, add a short -- or, if you don't want to hedge, exit one of your longs.

I do not suggest exit longs for shorts, or shorts for longs.

Why not? "Go long 1, go short 1" has exactly the same effect as "Go long 1, exit long 1" except now you don't have two orders to close.

I don't know what is your goal in trading, but when I open a trade my goal is to have a winner (both long and short) and not closing a loser.

I'm having trouble visualizing how you'd get into and out of both a buy and a sell trade successfully anyway. If I get a trigger and end up taking a sell, and then get a trigger to buy on the next bar, won't the take profit for the buy be beyond the stop loss for the sell? Or is your "X" pips buffer above/below the high/low > then your TP?

Can you dig up a screen shot of a pair of trades that panned out?
