You guys are starting to contact me asking for Tommaso's paypal account; this has unearthed a problem I did not anticipate.

Tommaso has asked me not to give out is paypal account because it will cause problems for him with the Italian tax authorities if his account receives more that 5 payments a year.

I would feel uncomfortable telling people to send donations to me that I could forward in one lump in a few months time. I would have to be organised and keep proper records. Ask my accountant how good I am at that. :lol:

In ten months time, my mind will be turning around paying for the next year. Maybe by then I shall be able to stump up the cash myself. I am a musician - having that much spare cash would be a first. Yet I feel it unfair to expect Tommaso to stump up again.

We need to be able to set up a dedicated SHF account somewhere that members can donate to in order to ensure the future of SHF. It needs to be able to accept tiny donations - a 10,000+ membership does not demand much from each individual to meet hosting costs. :lol:

I have no idea how or where to set up such an account. Any ideas, guys?

This is a great idea. I'd be happy to throw in some Shekels and I'm sure your idea would generate more than enough to cover the operating costs for this hugely valuable forum.

As for payment, since this is probably going to be a long term engagement, might i suggest steve creates a separate paypal account solely for the purpose of collecting hosting funds? Reason being paypal is rather sticky on the deposit and withdrawal limits until you verify your true self. Not sure about taxes though but i believe the UK should not be so sticky about this?

we are now going with a dedicated server with RAID, 1TB harddisc, 4MB RAM and unlimited bandwidth

Tomasso your gesture is above and beyond and deserves the praise and gratitude of the many members of this forum. Previous post by members have already used up all the adjectives so all I can say is a humble ....Thanks. You certainly stand tall with Steve and Bob and all the other major contributors to this forum.
