The 2 Matrixes are different bots, with different implementations. So should be in a different topic.
No to do a good comparison, we need to use the same broker.
The idea is to compare sets, not brokers.
I have my own preffered house brokerage, but willing to switch.
Everyone use same lotsize and account size.
Most usefull would be to have a collective start.
So each set file is trading at the same time.
Test this month, setfile A, and try Sets B next month is a far les usefull way of comparison.
As the market is defenitly different next month

They can be effective, sometimes I don;t have a jot of a clue why a trade is closed.
Its not TP or SL-ed. Sometimes the chart wont even show a exit condition?
(hopefully fixed in version i) This is one of the things that makes the automation challenging.
As I said before, if a condition is true for even a split second.
An EA reacts to the signal, A discretionary trader won't.
And might not even see the signal. If something like this occurs it might be usefull to make a filter.
First we need to know if its usefull, effective, and then what we need.

We need a cloud storage, where each user can download his Sets.
And possible modded version of HGB.

Altough TradeReport is a great tool, specific for personal use.
For a collective forward test, it comes in short. Myfxbook is the way to go.
Actually 5 accounts, don't forget the TrendWave trades
To overcome curve fitting, a week test spin would be wa to short.
Should be at least a month.
We really need dedicated trade type accounts.
Otherwise analyzing, collecting data would be a tedious task.
You do'nt want another day job, playing with the MyFxBook filters.
The data should be available very easily.
The EA is basically 5 different Strategys in one. Thats the way we should treat it.
Test each strategy seperatly. Don't let the other strategy influence the results.
Determine with myfxbook the best sets for each strategy.
Put it all in one set file, trade it for a week, go on holiday to a tropical place and we al retire
Anyother type of test without structure would just be a big pile of data.
Uncapable to manage, analyze and use.
Using one single myfxbook account will make you go insane with clikking, setting up filters etcetera.
( Done that, been there already for the HGB)
Multiple accounts doesn't mean more work. It means having data easier at our disposal.
We could greatly benefit from a structured approach.
Actually you do want to have the 'verify trade privileges' thing on myfxbook.
As it unlocks very usefull tools.
On structurization, give each tester instructions, and let them setup, verify their own account.
For one person this little it would only take a couple of mins. Use the power of the collective.
We can all do the math, if we all decided that one person does this job..

I can't imagine anyone is getting happy with distributing set files to participants trough PM's.
I won't  As it already is my dayjob is already dedicated to the development of the HGB.
So I suggest we make use of a cloud storage. Anyone have suggestions??
Then make a folder for each participant..
Example...
Boinvest\TestRun01\Platform01
Boinvest\TestRun01\Platform02
Boinvest\TestRun01\Platform03
Boinvest\TestRun01\Platform13
And then Place the SET files in these folders. (And maybe a Modded version of the EA)
Make a General section, at which people can Download, Instructions, Myfxbook installer, and the EA, Indi, Template, helper scripts.
Yes you've heard it right... I said Modded version of the EA.
As there are so many options to play with. In some of the topics over here there have been shared Ideas to imrpove entrys exits and stuff.
(I am not talking a about filters, don't want to go that road.)

I've got so many ideas, and input.. But didn't get to implementation then.
And I am open to ideas, but have to say, I wil only implement them if i see use for it, or that it might work.
The idea behind the mods is to just test some concepts. (Might even be different strategys like enter on 3th rad, exit on 2nd wavy, whatever..)
Purpose to gather this data, proof of concepts in a quick dirty way, and incorporate is in version 3.
The candidate EA to use right now is version 2i.
To be sure to that we can compare apples with apples.
We have to group the testers in logical teams.
Based on the Latency to the Test Server.
So a first step would be, to gather data of the machines we have available to work with.
Maybe use a online office, or google docs for this to gather info.
And come up with a strategic plan what to test.
I've bloated some of my ideas what to test in a PM to trendinator.
Won't repeat the (possibly incomplete) large list here.
Got to make sure, we do usefull tests, Don't like to wast mine and other peoples energy and resources.
@Americans, We are not going to make a special USA HGB version.
We would like to test here with standard version, no Hedge or FiFo limit.
(Or any other crazy restriction your country may come up with)

As tempting as it might be.. I can't be the Projectleader of this succesfull collabrative project.

But I will help where I can, provide input, strategy etc..
Dunno if I can even participate in the test. I've Allready gathered a bunch of test PC's for this purpose.
Have them sit in my way for weeks, and still dind't set them up..install them or start a demo.
Think I can be more usefull coding the EA, share ideas and convert some concepts in modded versions for the testers to try. |
