Dwain Good to see you. Judging by your setfile you meant "trading time to 1H not 1M". I'll try your setfile with hedging but when I tried H1 two weeks ago without hedging it had a lot short term losers. I was thinking of trying a M15 with a higher LvL to keep out the rife rafe, but that's later. Best of Luck Ray |

Ray, No .. the trading time in my set file is M1 (not 1M) By turning off the higher and medium SuperSlopes and setting the trading time to M1, I'm basically forcing the EA to take a trade when the trading time frame colors are all the same. (Much like BlindBot) Now it's up to Dotty to manage the trades. With the work Steve and Thomas put into the hedging system to use lots instead of number of positions .. this EA and HGBnD really look to be winners. Thanks Steve and Thomas!! It's only been a few hours on my live account .. but here are some results: |

Hi Ray. Following your tests with high interest, I want to answer some questions you raised. This EA is designed as a hedging one. If you use it without hedging, you can use stop losses for the single trades. At the moment, I am running some tests with similar trendfollowing setups derived from ALS´s original setfile for Dottybot. I would never run such a strategy without stop losses. Steve´s answer is very clear: "As to a basket stop loss, absolutely not. I have coded many basket trading EA's. Apart from ultimate failure, they all have one thing in common: a basket stop loss kills trading stone dead." I dont know of any code in the EA that would close baskets at 200 pips. It might be mere chance. Are you still getting 200 pip basket closures? We are in a time of the year with low liquidity, sometimes very high spreads and frequent spread spikes. I also have tons of those spread events in my logs. From my viewpoint, this feature that disables trading on sudden spread widening works as intended and the market situation normalizes more and more. |

Tomele Thanks for taking the time to answer. I see your point about SL so I'll just use a single SL. Back to the testing! Thanks again Ray |

The end of another trading week. Here is the result of one day of live trading with my set file. I think I may have stumbled on a bug .. I had the option "BuysAndSellsUnbalancedAtLots" set to .05 and never got the hedge until I set it to .10 When the US opened this morning, EURUSD spiked and then fell to quick for the EA to close and open trades. I expected to see a full hedge but didn't see one. I then changed the setting to .10 and immediately got a .12 hedge. If anyone else is testing my set file .. please change the setting. Good luck all! Dwain |

Dwain I'm setting up my test and I still am not clear of which "TradingTimeFrame" you are using because here is a picture of both your setfile in the editor and loaded on the EA. set show 60, EA shows 1 Hour. What do you mean by M1?? Look forward to testing with you Ray

Steves correct "stone dead "but it allows for a newer more up to date entry. See my chart, loser got dropped with a -36/487 pips lose, by your EA and I still don't know why, then 10 minutes later entered a winning basket. As long as the stop loss doesn't interfere with the winner’s depth of loss, it can help. I have a low TP which gives the EA with an H4 Time frame room to run in the BSS direction. I have your EA compiled with BasketTPSLperpair, I'll test it and see how well it works or not. Would you allow me to post it here for others to test. See my charts as to why I believe this particular EA could benefit from this addition if you are not HEDGING. I have more large losses which closed themselves, see the setfile, trade history and the charts for further help in solving this question. Quite possibly you already have a controlling factor/function in this EA which is really placing a SL of some sort. Now that I have a Basket per pair, I’ll try to find the factor again but your hedging and … blows my mind. PS: I got it, Look at the time of the losing basket its right at 0400.002. The EA may be closing all close of previous basket. I checked all my spreadsheets. Well 7 losers were closed at the Open or close/change of candle and remember the 39 positions that closed with a 1.69 gain it also was closed at the changed of candle. So its not a win or lose closing its a candle closing. If you need to see the other 8 Closures let me know. PSS: I also question why, as you can see from the charts, we so limited to good entries. Remember I'm only using the H4 BSS Time frame. I'm still using the set file from page 2. So what do you think? Do you have a close of candle function?? Can we get rid of it?? We Are almost there. I've been trying to use HGI as the only exit but it won't allow any trades without using hgi as the trigger. Can we just use HGI for the exit instead of entry and allow CSS to take trades ? |

I've been a lurker, and mostly done a lot of reading on here - even before attempting on demo... Just so I understood what each bit would mean. Anyway, I've taken the plunge and have had some fantastic results with this today. I tested out earlier this week with much larger pip for TP; however I wanted to assume I was on a real account so setup the size and such as I would be on live. I also factored in that I do like to take a peak at how it's going through the day, and have opted for the quicker+smaller profits; but it seems that this EA doesn't care for what I want and just keeps giving! Attached some of the results. Thanks to everyone who has put in their hard work for this, and who continue to do so. |
