actually just realised that my results have been somewhat skewed by the opening Gap. I was running at 17% drawdown which is a heck of a lot but not enough to judge after only a weeks testing. Also bearing in mind that I had grid trading open at one stage with a 5 pip difference. I wanted to see if Hgbdottynpivots would take grid trades within the confines of the pivot and the support/resistance area and it did, which immediately put the set on the backfoot with a massive drawdown and at 10c lots you can imagine :) I have since done away with that idea and find it sufficient for the Ea to take trades with buy/sell limits within confines of the 4 hr pivots

Anyway, early days and only time will tell if trading smaller time frame pivots are a worth while route to go. We are entering month end and important news events leading up to the French elections and much forward testing data could or will be skewed. I will not let this deter me :) Of course in a live situation it is different.
Thanks Tjf, yes of course but before I get to that I want to refer you back to my discussion with Zaguy a few pages back. This is a work in progress...In fact there cannot be a big drawdown because the Ea sets a s/loss at Daily support/res 2 as per the 4hr Pivot. I have had stoplosses taken out this week. When I started the Ea I set a s/loss of 500 pips and had grid trading enabled. This resulted in my 17% drawdown. So if you want to get a realistic picture of this weeks draw down and results, here goes:

The best is to test it for yourself for a realistic comparison ;)

Hi Pandaboy
This week's trading results. (switched to H4 from H1 and Steve's setfile) ..closed everything after seeing too much green.. :mrgreen:I have manually closed couple of times and when I checked now the results would have been far better if I hadn't intervened.. EA is off and will be switched on next week.. I do not want to lose what I earned in 4 days to the friday.. :smile: Waiting to see Steve's results for the month.. It would be massive, I believe.. This strategy looks very promising.. A big salute again to Steve..! :hi:
Nice results on your side too. :good: If you for example have monthly and weekly pivots as your trend time frame, you can become flexible with your trading timeframe and set it to 1hour or even less. The only thing is that you want to adjust your pivot s/loss from the default setting of zero to say 25 pips or more so that the Ea wont try and set buy or sell limits with stop losses too close to market at support or resistance on your chosen smaller timeframe.

Anyway we have only scratched the surface and there are endless possibilities.

This is fast becoming one of my leading Ea's in terms of profit. I simply love the simplicity of it. Yesterday opened the week with 150 pips.

Just a bit more with regards to my approach.
I usually load the EA dashboard an hour or so before London. Once the Dashboard opens the charts I set automated chart opening and closing to false and let the Ea do the rest. I let it run 3 to 4 hours into the session. If take profits not already reached I will close the whole basket if I see a decent profit and I let it loose again in the New York session. The Beauty with this Ea is when your buy and sell limts have been set you can close the platform and come back a few hours later to check.

The only change I have made so far to the Ea, is set my pivot s/loss to 100 pips. The rest is the same as per my setfile.

Early days and this Ea is yet to be tested under various conditions for example turning markets, ranging periods and so forth. I will therefore not get my hopes up just yet.

This seems to be a good plan, WG :good: ...You mean that you set the "Stop Trading" to true when the EA have opened it's trades? (I'm a slow learner :smile: .)

No Bazze.

Let me try and explain in a simple chronological way for you.
The template attached is what you load on a seperate chart. I attach It to EURCHF because I don't trade this pair. This is your HGBnPivot dashboard Ea. The dashboard merely opens the chart template for you. It does not trade. It tells you which pairs are in a long trend and vice versa in a short trend.
If you set "automatechart opening and closing" to true it will open all charts specified as being in a long or short trend.
After all my charts have automatically opened I immediately set "automatechart opening and closing" to false, because I dont want the ea to open or close more charts in the session. You will quickly see my reasoning behind this.
HGBnPivot Dashboard Ea W1D1H4.tpl
Must be loaded into your platform templates folder.

Here is my Ea template which the dashboard is linked to. You dont need to open the chart for this. The dashboard Ea will automatically load this template

I look at my basket as whole before I decide to close. I use one of Steve's close all scripts if I want to manually intervene. Right now my basket is siting at 69 pips drawdown and I have 52 pips in profit targets that were reached. I will leave this for New York. Nothing to panic about.
