Yes this is something that I'm not happy with & couldn't get right - the counts of tests on zones. The problem comes from the fact that multiple zones can be created from candles that bounce from an area that's nearby but isn't quite the same as another zone, but enough to overlap when the "fuzz factor" is applied. When zones overlap, the indicator merges them, and it _should_ add up the number of tests correctly but sometimes is not. There's a bug in there somewhere that I haven't been able to find yet, and right now don't have the time to go looking for :\ Mind you this has nothing to do with the identification of the zones themselves, simply the strength it assigns to them. |

This thread is getting long now, maybe now is a good time to post updates to the first post? Indi looks good. I've used II_SupDem and have found it to be OK but shows too many zones. I'm sure you've seen the odds enhancers from Seiden. A while back I tried to work these into the SupDem, but the code is a bit to complicated for me to work with. I haven't looked at your actual code yet so see what you've one, but have you worked in any of the odds enhancers to the zones? The single enhancer I really look for in my manual trading is the strength of the move away from the zone, thus making it a strong and obvious zone. In SupDem I was going to add a condition that the move away had to be something like ATR*?? plus at least 3 red candles, hoping this would remove some of the weaker zones. For an EA, I thing it is critical to only use the best zones, compared to manual trading where the eye can decide. As you said in an earlier post, its much harder t program something that can be seen very easily with the eye. My vision of a S/D EA is one that uses high quality zones and goes for quality trades not quantity. The other thing I was going to do is for the EA to draw a line at the target. Once the trade is entered it would send me an email. I would then drag the line to the target of choice. This shouldn't be an issue using 4 hour charts, should have enough time to get to the screen. But the baseline for a good EA is a good indi and I think you're on the right track. Thanks for the work! |

Great stuff you have here ! Maybe a dumb question but what is a "turncoat resistance/support" ? Price can bounce both direction ? |

Hi SS - love your "indicator" very useful with AnotherBrians excellent TT2P tool. Particularly for Suppy/Demand Trading. Since you've included the mql code I intend "modifying" - very simply replacing references to Resistance to Supply, and Support to Demand. Thought I'd mention it in case you could see value in the cosmetic change. Great coding and thanks again for sharing Gordon |

Slipshod I really love this indicator and thank you for making it.. One request would be to add a ON/OFF screen button to toggle the levels, as I find it can make the charts hard to read having it on all the time...I do prefer to use the solid levels as its much easier to read the chart to see where the key levels of support are... Hi Slipshod, thank you very much for this great work with the Support/Resistance Indicator. I use this indi as external in an EA on an Empty4 that run on a VPS. I notice that the first time that it run on each chart, the memory consumption increase about 25-55MB. After a day, my vps (1GB) is blocked without memory free. Is possible that when the indi have finished its work, leaves free all the memory? Thanks JJ |

Hi jjgengis, I've never noticed a memory issue with the indicator before - I've had it running on multiple charts for days on end without a problem. My guess is its something to do without how the EA is using the indicator... |

Slipshod Is there anyway to add the screen on/off toggle button? I like to trade with as little noise on my charts and love this imdi, but it woulkd be great if it was possible to toggle on/off.. Thanks, JP |
