You are more than welcome. But like I said, I'm only standing on the shoulders of the genius behind Super Slope. I'm just happy that I can give something back to this forum, which has taught and giving me so much.

I will tell you that 9x9 cannot stand on it's own. I have put it into an EA for back testing and can't seem to make any profit with it. I know .. back testing is useless .. but .. it helps to define rules around using an indicator. I'll be working on it .. and hopefully more to come. I have always had the feeling that when trading .. you have to see the big picture (all the TF's) before taking a trade. When they are all in agreement, it's time to make some pips!

TraderJoe,

Because there is so much information on the grid, I think it would help others (and me!) if you could describe how you are using it. Or maybe take a screenshot of an entry and the reasons you took the position? This goes for anyone using it. Like I said in earlier posts .. there are secrets in this indi, we just have to find them.

Glad you find it useful!

Nice one! Will definitely be keeping this on the charts.

Here is something I'm thinking about (Lord help us again!) It's like I can see Elliott waves moving thru the grid! Does anyone else see them?

Thanks a lot for your great work Dwain!

Small question I use white charts and when i change text colour to black
colour from the swap/spread stays white. Is there a way i can change this to
black as well or will this be in a next update :clap:

Thanks again will test with this great indy to use as extra confirmation on my
demo this coming week.

thanks,

Pete

Pete, Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Yes, I did miss that ..

Minor update in post 1. Use CommentLabel_color setting to change the color.

Hi Dwain,

You are right, there are fractals in every grid.

I am not really very capable of about coding, I had a look into the code but I couldn't figure it out. Can you please let me know how do you calculate "Slope of Slope" shortly?

Thanks.

Emre

I'm sure there is an easier way but this is what I came up with .. starting on line 1581
(BTW, getCombinedSlope can be used to figure the slope of any 2 numbers)

Code: Select all

    //Let's calculate the slope of the slopes from the 0 candle to the 1 candle
    if(tf>=BeginSlopeOfTheSlopeTF && tf<=EndSlopeOfTheSlopeTF)
    {
       CSS_SlopeOfTheSlope += getCombinedSlope(CSS_C1, CSS_C2);
    }
The function that calculates the difference starts on line 1613

Code: Select all

double getCombinedSlope(double Cur1_0, double Cur2_0)
{

   double Cur1Slope = Cur1_0 ;
   double Cur2Slope = Cur2_0;
   double CombSlope;

   if(Cur1Slope == 0) return Cur2Slope;
   if(Cur2Slope == 0) return Cur1Slope;

   //Flip the negatives numbers to get the strongest currency
   double tempCur1 = (Cur1_0 < 0)?Cur1_0*-1:Cur1_0;
   double tempCur2 = (Cur2_0 < 0)?Cur2_0*-1:Cur2_0;
   bool Cur1Strongest = (tempCur1>=tempCur2 )?true:false;

   double tempCur1Slope = (Cur1Slope < 0)?Cur1Slope*-1:Cur1Slope;
   double tempCur2Slope = (Cur2Slope < 0)?Cur2Slope*-1:Cur2Slope;

   bool addSlope = ( (Cur1Slope > 0 && Cur2Slope <0) || (Cur1Slope < 0 && Cur2Slope > 0) )?true:false;

   if( Cur1Slope>0 && Cur2Slope>0 && addSlope ) CombSlope = (tempCur1Slope+tempCur2Slope);
   if( Cur1Slope>0 && Cur2Slope>0 && !addSlope && Cur1Strongest ) CombSlope = (tempCur1Slope-tempCur2Slope);
   if( Cur1Slope>0 && Cur2Slope>0 && !addSlope && !Cur1Strongest ) CombSlope = (tempCur2Slope-tempCur1Slope);

   if( Cur1Slope>0 && Cur2Slope<0 && addSlope ) CombSlope = (tempCur1Slope+tempCur2Slope);
   if( Cur1Slope>0 && Cur2Slope<0 && !addSlope && Cur1Strongest ) CombSlope = (tempCur1Slope-tempCur2Slope);
   if( Cur1Slope>0 && Cur2Slope<0 && !addSlope && !Cur1Strongest ) CombSlope = (tempCur2Slope-tempCur1Slope);

   if( Cur1Slope<0 && Cur2Slope<0 && addSlope ) CombSlope = (tempCur1Slope+tempCur2Slope);
   if( Cur1Slope<0 && Cur2Slope<0 && !addSlope && Cur1Strongest ) CombSlope = (tempCur1Slope-tempCur2Slope);
   if( Cur1Slope<0 && Cur2Slope<0 && !addSlope && !Cur1Strongest ) CombSlope = (tempCur2Slope-tempCur1Slope);

   if( Cur1Slope<0 && Cur2Slope>0 && addSlope ) CombSlope = (tempCur1Slope+tempCur2Slope);
   if( Cur1Slope<0 && Cur2Slope>0 && !addSlope && Cur1Strongest ) CombSlope = (tempCur1Slope-tempCur2Slope);
   if( Cur1Slope<0 && Cur2Slope>0 && !addSlope && !Cur1Strongest ) CombSlope = (tempCur2Slope-tempCur1Slope);

   if(Cur1Strongest && Cur1Slope < 0)CombSlope=CombSlope*-1;
   if(!Cur1Strongest && Cur2Slope > 0)CombSlope=CombSlope*-1;

   return CombSlope;
}

Sure, no problem. Ok here are a couple of examples of charts I am looking at CADJPY and EURNZD. I have a short view on both short term, based on H4 charts (trading away from Peak High) and right now D1 SS is ranging so I am watching on M5 for any quick scalping sell opportunities.

Basically I am looking for 3 things to enter: Trading below C Fork trendline, slope of the slope showing negative momentum and a new Flying Buddha to enter.

What I am currently trying to work out is the relationship between slope of the slope and flying buddhas.. i.e. I might need to drop down to M1 to get a Flying Buddha trigger once Slope of the slope is negative but we'll see.

Thanks for showing us! Two things:

1. What timeframe range are you using for the Slope of the Slope?

2. From your screenshots, I can see I messed up the position of the reading when using the ShowStrengths = false setting. Fix is in post 1.
