Don't waste time on this, Mike, OHLC is the same. We can add user option to use HIGH/LOW, i did it already on my test EA...Anyway, they are thinking at that too on the main thread, so, I'm thinking in advance now, lol. |

Fratelli lost 40% of the account in 2 days running with the set file and on the 10 min chart. |

To everyone, As I've noticed some issues into Mike's version related to correct readings of SuperTrend (and I wasn't able to figure out what's wrong there), I'm temporary uploading here a version that reads the indicator(so you must have it in the indi's folder, "SuperTrendmod").This one is working, as I'm running it in ST right now. So, you have a toy to play with on Monday morning Have fun! |

Hello everybody , i`m Michael , and i became active on the Fratelli thread because i like this small strategy . quick in, quick out .... not really taking account of any trend ..anyway , it seems like a good addition to my trading style . About the indys posted on the thread , the only real deal and non standard indicator are the candles. ema89, lwma cross2,15 and macd are all standard Empty4 indicators, nothing fancy . The supertrend indy is the only custom indi and in it`s initial stage it is repainting one bar back . the supertrendmod indy is still repainting one bar back, only the modded candles indy does not repaint anymore . i did make a new indy that draws the candles without importing anymore the supertrend indy and as soon as i see dragos online on skype will share it with him . I will as well make a version of the ea that will be shared but that is when i will have time . About the system itself , it sounds and looks and feels very promicing. i did as well a lot of visual back testing and really , manually traded , you will end a winner on a weekly basis . Now to my best of knowledge (and i am in constant communication with peter) there is no curve fitting whatsoever being done to the sistem . no new indicators , no new rules... there has been a misunderstanding with that lwma cross 2,15 4,15 ... but it really is 2,15 and it will remain 2,15 ... The work on the system being done at the moment is testing other pairs . Also i am trying to get as much speed possible from the indicators , that`s why all this recoding . Still , if any addons will come to this system, those addons will be in the form of new pairs . If any indy addons come , trust me , there will be the old indyes , just looking different and working faster . Well im inclining for more speed . For DRAGOS & MIKE From my best of knowledge as well , there are issues with ema crosses are seen on this offline charts. There is some bug in the time conversion , and i do not think the bug is related to the indicaor , but rather to Empty4 limitations . This bug that i noticed seems to get itself fixed if you reupload the template , ore in this case , stop the ea and restart it . it is possible that the ea will miss some entryes just because of that . A fix for the market orders ore pending orders would be very easy . orders have tickets , if buystop ore buylimit don`t exist , and Ask = entry price , else if Ask < entry price -5*Point ordersend buylimit , ore if ask >entryprice+5*Point buylimit that way you will not get all that bunch of errors and so on ... also a fix for the open/close of the bar issue is , if close[1] > icustom(tra la la) && close[1]>open[1] , entry price = close[1] + buffer*Point ; else, if close[1]>icustom(tra la la) && close[1]<open[1], entry price = open[1] +buffer*point . I have been talking to Peter and my opinion is that we are way overexposed by traing EUR/USD , AUD/USD, EUR/JPY, GPB/USD ... all this pairs are highly correlated and they tend to move the same way .. usually you will end up buying all of them , ore selling all of them . This is why there is a lot of work being done in back testing other pairs, crosses and so on . But all this back testing is done with the same rules . tp and sl might be different because we have some high volatility pairs, and low volatility pairs , but the rules are the same , and will remain the same . So please, don`t think anybody is optimizing. |

Michael, Thanks for stopping by. I have a couple of comments on the indicators. The confusion over the 2/15 cross is likely because the current template in Peter's first post uses a 4/15 cross. The relevant section of the template is: Code: Select all The way you are using MACD is really another EMA cross, you could probably drop the MACD and use a variant of the 2/15 cross indicator, or just throw the two EMAs on the main chart. Finally, in my review of the SuperTrendCandles, it appears that it is just a breakout of an imaginary channel that is 1.7 ATRs away from the median of the previous bar (such that the channel only get's closer to the price). I mention it because it is very similar to the BBands_Stop_v1 used in the Jiva BB Stop trading system (see http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... hp?f=5&t=3). The BBands_Stop_v1 indicator relies on a similar breakout but the width of the channel is based on bollinger bands/standard deviation. I'm not saying it's a better indicator than the Candles, just something to hold in the back of your mind (or not I look forward to seeing the consolidated indicators to see how the team makes it all fit together. Believe me, we all want nothing more than for the system to be a huge success! George

Hello , on the template , no comment , on the macd and the way i use it .... Moving Average Convergence-Divergence (MACD) . it was meant to be used that way . I have no idea about the bb indicator that you mentioned, but i will have a look . Nevertheless, peter came up with this system , and i am encouraging him on a daily basis not to change the rules nore the indyes My struggle with the indicators is not to change them but to make them lighter. like that supertrend candles , was a loop in a loop , now its only one loop .. lol ... that saves us a lot of cpu power . Piece of advice , even if a new set of templates will be released, please manually check the templates if everything is ok . everybody knows the rules of the system . Nevertheless the new main indy has inside the super trend indy, the super trend candles, the ema cross and the working hours .. all in 1 loop out of 3 . which drastically increases execution time and speed. they do have the settings hard coded, external was left only number of bars and working hours. still make sure that ema 89 is indeed ema 89 and macd has standard values. will be released with 3 versions of the macd , standard colored, my line macd, and an alteration of bbmacd with alarm . Do not use them all at the same time, they will show you exactly the same thing. you have 3 as you are given from what to choose ... personally i use the line cause it occupies a very small amount of screen space , peter uses bbmacd cause he likes those small circles i am writing such a long message.... need another stella |

Why don't you use volatility-based stop calculations? Maybe for hand-executing Fratelli with indicators, you need to give people fixed values. But I always base stops on a volatility measure, such as ADR. That way you use the same rule for all pairs. |

I think using a SL/TP based on volatility is a good idea. The EA has the option to set these already. Currently doing some final checking before releasing v2.5. Dragos has been doing checking and updating for me as i have been busy this weekend. I have done some more mods like updating the times routine to allow mins and hrs to be set so now we can follow rules of 5:50-18:30 GMT. I have fixed logic fo re-entries and added the SAR entry. Fixed a few bugs that had been raised though i still cannot get rid of error 1! I have put in error checking but it still gets through, so if anyone knows how to overcome this let me know please as i am stumped at the moment. Mike |
