MarcelloT lets you running with considerable dd for most of the time, fxoz generally has less, but the max levels are tha same , while TIB with hanover has small DD but gets rid of bad trades.
I am quite sure, if I get the hanover and exit strategy settings worked out better, TIB could make better.

I stopped trading TB on my live account towards the end of last year and picked it up again using the version and settings wreckhead posted here http://www.professionalwreckhead.com/blog/?page_id=402.
Since I started trading live again on 17th April until close of trading on 7th July, my live account is up 15%
I am trading quite conservatively for my account balance, as I have some baggage (old trades that are still in drawdown) on my live account that I am slowly whittling away at. I have had to intervene occasionally due to the ea attempting to open one additional pair more than my max pairs allowed and occasionally recovery has not kicked in correctly. Neither of these issues has caused me a problem and I'm happy to keep an eye on it and jump in as required as I know exactly what TB should be doing and when.

Will be running MurphyMan, ProfessionalWrecked and taipan99 on demos this week and see how I like the set files. I am still focusing on 10.2 as my main trading but really want to diversify a little and try these.

Hi the only EA I trade life, set up on a demo account and copying trades with "MT4i - Trade Copy" on my life account, where I execute different systems.
I have chosen the pairs ranging most of the time, avoiding chf and jpy: eurgbp,eurusd,gbpaud,gbpcad,gbpusd,nzdusd,usdcad
and use the attached version and set-file. Lotsize 0.02/10000$ account.
I do not interfere manually. I have made about 10% within the last 3 months with this bot. DD during this time at the most 5%. Looks I am lucky.

I guess if a thread dies we can all pretty much assume the method doesn't have wheels. Accordingly, you can pretty much assume this is my final post on this thread.

It's predictable. As soon as I tell someone how great a trading method is, I can count on that method going backwards on me. Maybe if I had stayed with the pure system, and taken smaller losses, I would have stuck with TOB. As it happened, I narrowly escaped with my skin.

In a nutshell, and as best as I can recall, here is what happened. After I hit that peak, nearing Dec. 1, 2011, I got caught in some trades that refused to retrace. Doesn't really matter which pair, it could happen anywhere. I tried saving myself by taking a large hedge trade to stop losses and assuming we were in a solid trend. Naturally, the hedge went sour and things got worse. I closed all trades, and took the hit.

Dusting my self off, I started with TOB again, only to have a repeat in early February '12. At that point I stopped trading TOB and worked mostly on demo, with a few trades that really didn't pan out. Then another hedging episode late 2012 and I really lost most of my shirt.

About that time I was reading that EUR was taking off, and JPY was hitting the skids. I did some reckless trading, with some more stupid hedge trades, and somehow have managed to recoup my losses, mostly due to blind luck. It was a terrible rollercoaster ride and I was on the verge of getting out of Forex entirely. But as it finished, today I am a few thousand up.

I am giving up TOB, because while it seemed to have steady growth, I have been unable to manage my account when the pair continues to trend and refuses to retrace and I am stuck with some bad Martingaled trades.

So where from here? Well, I really spend a lot of time fooling around with the demo accounts, but will be going live with Nanningbob's 10.4 system.http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =38&t=1481. It is the most sensible, and realistic method that my feeble brain can understand. As of today, the system is manual trading, but I will consider EAs as they come available.

Sam, you and I and a few others go back a few years. I am sure I speak for all of us when I say I am delighted you have ended up ahead, even if how you did so is not a method to be followed by too many others. :lol:

One day, you will be able to write one of those Guru books that Bob has such a delightful rant about in the 10.4 documentation. :lol:

Guys, we have to write TOB off as a failed experiment. Maybe its time will come - who knows? I am joining Same this week, and probably a few others, in setting urp my live account 10.4 charts.
