Its survived both the BOE interest rate and non farm payrolls. The 4.5% drawdown is a bit higher than I am comfortable with but will tinker and try to reduce it. Ive also been running other variations including the $50 basket and $25 but they both have massive drawdown on my tests. Thanks everyone involved. :yahoo:

Yes this setfile has been chugging along quite nicely. It handled those news events pretty well (whereas my native SS tests didn't :lol: ). Going to wrap up my native SS tests then going on hols for a few weeks. Hoping to get into testing this EA a bit more when I return, it shows great promise.

Here's the TradeChart after (almost) 7 weeks. It does get in a bit of a hole sometimes but so far has managed to dig its way out without too much damage/drawdown. Can't help but think that sooner or later it will find a deeper hole. Recovery should help, plenty more testing to do.

c1borg, your test is running just H4 isn't it?

Yes it is a much safer set, however, since multiple pairs use the same currency, one day we will still get stuck with a draw down which we would not be comfortable with so we would need to have a plan in place for when that happens.

Here is an indicator I use to manually recover individual currency pairs.
It shows me the exposure of the pair in $ and pips, adds together the lot sizes of open trades and draws breakeven BUY+Sell lines on the chart.

If we have several EA's and they have opened multiple trades on 1pair, the indicator has the ability to separate those and can show us the pair's exposure from 1 or more EA's.

Simply enter the EA's magic number in the indicator settings and it will show you only the exposure from the open trades of that particular EA.
The indicator is meant to work on 1 chart so it can only do 1 pair at a time. The $ figure includes swap and commission.

The default settings have the EA check function switched off,
so if for example we put the indicator on a EURUSD chart, it will include all open EURUSD trades.

Guys,

when we are in a situation where new trades are prohibited because of insufficient margin (greed is it, isn't it?), wouldn't it make sense to remove all pending buy/sell stop trades? Aren't we - in a really bad scenario - even decreasing our margin further if those stop's are hit and executed?
Furthermore I realized that when entering a 'insufficient margin' area, new trades aren't placed, but buy/sell stop trades are still placed. Why that?

Cheers,
Andy

The margin checks are intended to stop initiating new trading cycles. Existing ones have to be worked through.

Yes. Don't be a tit. Understand the basics of trading and avoid the potential for over-exposure. Don't know how to do this? Stop trading until you have learned.

Get a grip, stop being stupid, learn the basics of how this EA works and stop annoying me. You will not enjoy the result of continuing down your current path.

Hi Team,

Could you confirm that the Global Basket Trading option for BasketCashPercentageTarget, looks at all trades on the platform, not just Awesome trades...? I think is does, so if you have trades in DD, thata are not part of the Awsome, the can upset your Take Profit...!

If this is in fact the case, is this something we could alter..?

Update:Few minutes later....I have not tested this, but it could be the case....If Awsome is using all the trades (Awsome and others) to do the basket TP calculation, will it also try to close the trades that were not open by it...?

Yes, It means all trades open on the platform regardless of their origin.

V 1r is in post 1. Wiggy's post made me think that a display of the upl of all trades on the platform might be helpful for those of you enabling AllTradesBelongToBasket, as a visual confirmation of your choice.

This is an easy DIY patch. Do a search for: "if (!ShowChartFeedback)"

Insert this above "if (!ShowChartFeedback)"

Code: Select all

   if (AllTradesBelongToBasket)
      SM("I am looking for the opportunity to close all trades on the platform at your chosen profit target. Upl is currently "
          + DoubleToStr(EntirePositionCashUpl, 2) + NL);
