Hi Zafh,

The way I look at it. As you have eluded to, Sbp is a game of two halves. If price reaches the top half of Peaky a sell stop will be opened if Superslope trends down so we are in a sell situation. I am not sure with the buffer pips before a sell stop is opened. I will have to investigate properly. Lets say your min distance between trades is 30 pips a sell stop will be entered with every 30 pips depending of your open trades allowed in your direction. However, If the trade goes against you after lets say 2 trades and recovery mode is set at 3, recovery will set in at the 3rd trade. If your trade goes up 90 pips against your position a market order should be opened or alternatively a sell stop entered after 30 pips against your position equals 120 pips similar to Pos. If recovery mode is set to 10 dollars then all trades will close.

All in all very complicated stuff and Steve an the guys have their heads around it.

Cheers
Leon

Experimental version 1u is not the main version 1v. The experimental code has not wreaked havoc and can be considered safe.

Experimental version 1v is in post 1. Please see the "Experimental version" section in post 1, then get the input details from the user guide.

I have stopped SPB initiating new trading cycles and am managing the DD manually by:
  • Loading up Super Slope showing D1, H4 and H1 values.
  • Closing successful pairs when the H4 and H1 have turned negative (close buys) and vice versa.
  • Leaving unsuccessful pairs alone when the D1 is still in the right direction.
  • Hedging 50% of the unsuccessful pairs where all three SS values are on the wrong side of zero, and removing the hedge when SS reverses.
I coded a bot a few months ago that I called, "Scalpy". The idea was to trade only in the direction of the D1 SS on a low time frame, trying to scalp a few pips on, say, the M5. This never saw the light of day here because it was unsuccessful.

I coded a semi-auto trading aid EA for Zennor last week, trading in the direction of his choice and taking trades when x consecutive candles have closed in the chosen direction. I developed the code on the M5 to generate trades and using SS on the D1, H4 and H1 to show the direction.

Even on the M5 this worked reasonably well, so I have turned the idea into an auto-trader. Now toy folks: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 46#p163346. Have a play and see what you think.

Nothing much has changed in my SPB settings this week and the live Global Prime account is still sitting at around 34% DD.

I am determined NOT to interfere manually or change the current setup and use this as a good test case for recovery given the settings I am using currently. I am still of the belief that given enough time this will come right.

I think the lessons learned from this excercise for the wiser folk amongst us that code and analyse will be invaluable to the future of the EA.

Have a great Bank holiday weekend for my British bretheren and all others, a good weekend to you as well.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for the update.

I can see that the EA is selling both JPY and CHF at the same time
and an extended RISK OFF situation could result in an even bigger DD.

The GBPJPY is the biggest problem atm.
Not a good situation to be in with a live account and this is why we should carefully choose our currency pairs.

Now let's hope that the trade war issues settle down soon
and that President Trump is not impeached.....

Thanks Bill

Yup I am keeping an eye on it, but really do not want to intefere just yet. I am thinking of closing off all the Yen pairs when this unravels?

You could do, I don't actually have the GBPCHF, GBPJPY, GBPNZD in my set files anymore.
I also don't trade Oil and Gold.
You are a brave man :hi:

Hi Bill

Oil and Gold are traded manually, very occasionally, not part of the EA setup at all.
These are the pairs traded at this stage, settings and set file can be found on the test site where you will notice that Oil, Gold US500 etc. do not feature as part of the EA's trading;
AUDCAD,AUDCHF,AUDNZD,AUDJPY,AUDUSD,CADCHF,CADJPY,CHFJPY,EURAUD,EURCAD,EURCHF,EURGBP,EURNZD,EURJPY,EURUSD,GBPCHF,GBPJPY,GBPUSD,GBPNZD,GBPCAD,GBPAUD,NZDUSD,NZDJPY,USDCAD,USDCHF,USDJPY,NZDCHF,NZDCAD.

Thanks for the advice and I shall look to drop the pairs you mention.
