Hope you did fine this week. I wanted to ask you what you mean by we can enter on weak H1 slope (green/red) even if it didn't went till +/-0.8 on specials conditions, what are those conditions ?

Could you explain more about how do you use the H4 slope with the pivots ?

Best regards,

Fable

ps: Just for the record, I took a big lost (minus -7%) today. Wich is kind of sad because it erase all my monthly profit :/ I'm now minus 2%... Well S*** happens.
Hi Fable,

Pity about your poor week (were they counter trades against the current/emerging bias direction or after a MTF retrace alert?) .

Given engagements elsewhere and the high market volatility, manual trading has been rather light for me this week.

Well, when all the other entry conditions are perfectly in place for entering a trade in the direction of the bias, you may find a situation where the H1 slope reverses at or near 0 without crossing it to give the usual signal. E.g. for a short trade, as price action sets a high and starts to go down for a pair with a DT bias, the slope moves upwards from <0 and gets to 0, then starts going back down <0 again. If it had crossed >0 it would have given the weak green signal but in this case it didn't get there. If price action is in a HPTP area, there is a high edge and the short trade is in the current/emerging bias direction, I may consider placing the pending order to enter the trade as the price goes down. This is not a common practice as it needs close chart analysis so I will call it a special condition.

The H4 indicator window is optional. It lets me see how momentum is evolving on higher TFs (sometimes I have both D1 and H4 on). It saves me the time of having to check the H4 & D1 TFs to know the slope direction and location above or below 0. I use it mostly when the pivots are too close together and I have a need to further clarify the trade direction.

Hope it helps.

Cheers,
CC

Actually it was quite the opposite I have won on counter trade and lost on following bias trade
But mainly It was because I took the CHFJPY trade from last week the wrong way (it was a RR3 trade, so a risky one it was totally my mistake :o )

Thanks for the precisions on H4 slope using.

Best regards,
Fable

Since different time opens on criminals is relevant, yet they have chosen to kill the messenger rather than heed the message, I am done with anything that has anything to do with Bob.

I have spent enough of my life putting up with people who simply ignore relevant questions that I will not do so any more.

Jemook says Bob doesn't owe me anything.

Well, I don't owe Bob or Jemook anything.

This is DO and DP we're talking about. Nothing new.

I was trying to get people on the same page.

To me it doesn't make sense if one person's DO is above DP and another person's DO is below DP, you have the gang of traders trading against each other instead of in force.

I wasn't even saying I was the one that could do the best job coding, I just hate seeing relevant post by people just ignored or worse yet crap being given in response.

This has been what has made my mind up.

Hope you all good results in your trading, although I wonder why it's not important that everyone's charts look the same. I guess since I've got kicked off the 10.3 thread (well, no relevant questions are allowed, so I am not even interested anymore) and the main people don't care, and there are plenty of people to jump to Bob's defense but not mine, I'm done here.

Kindest regards,

Don

OK Don, if you feel yourself kicked off the 10.3 thread, and main people there don't care, here it is another story because CTS thread has nothing to do with 10.2/10.3.
I have noticed before that you were mainly active in CTS thread were you were a big contributor. Then suddenly you had switched your efforts to 10.3 thread to develop the GMT synchronized DP there.
I think after this experience it's time again to come back again to CTS method where you have your place and there's still a lot of thing to improve, in particular an EA which could launch the manual analysis.
So don't be discouraged. CTS is still in need of your talent, DON.

Hi,

i still stick with the 10.3 thread and find it really advancing in the right direction but believe me: i will have an eye on the pivot calculation. I think the same as Don. We can't successfully use 10.3 as ONE when we all see other pivots. Thats a crucial point and can't be ignored. Somebody posted an indy which can adjust and calculate the pivots based on NY close. Hope babalu can modify his indy to do the same...

good night

Hi guys !

This isn't 10.3 thread here, but just for clarification.
I believe it's important to sync criminals for more convenience between traders BUT the philosophy behind DO/DP method is this:

If DO is above DP, there is a uptrend (opposite for downtrend). But this is a indicator that's tell you whats going on at the moment of your openning and just that, nothing more. The difference between DO and DP is suppose to show you the "trend influence" on the PA. So that's why the moment of your openning doesn't matter for the method. It's a lagging indicator that's tell you what's going on with a precision of 1 day !

That's just MHO, I don't want to argue about 10.3 on the CTS thread wich has nothing to do with 10.3

Now about CTS. Wich is a great system in it self, what we might need is a way to analyse the market quickly (Don's EA ? Don's allpairs ? Multibob ? Build a journal ?).

Another thing that might be very useful is some kind of "market facts" about wich size to use for your SL, because it's a counter intuitive methode. For now I try something like SL = ATR/2 and TP= ATR to have a minimum edge of 2. MM is the key.

About that now I make picture of every trade I take (CC if you can do so too, and send me the pictures that would be great). My idea is maybe we can find some pattern, things that the market repeat over and over again. I try to have a exemple of every possible situation and make stats about those pattern accuracy. E.g S/R bounce? , Fastline positions (they frequently tells you at the very beginning of the week wich direction is going to be the weekly major direction) ? Discover when to trade -RR bias ? How and when we should take counter trades, etc...

CTS is efficient in it self ! But it could be even better with some experience and background.

Best regards to all of you, enjoy your sunday !

Fable

ps: Don, I'm very interested by your CTS EA, are you still developing it ? Maybe you can post some beta version and we could give you forward testing results.

UPDATE:

This is as close as I've gotten.

You'll notice that there are not enough bars to get last month startbar/open price on H1, so last month open time is much later than last month open time and last month open price is 0. IME, monthly open price that Empty4 gives me is correct, so can use what Empty4 gives.

IME, weekly and daily open price need to use current chart if possible, since Empty4 does not give correct weekly or daily open price on non GMT+2 criminals.

So even if we can get close when trying to sync weekly and daily open prices, and I do in fact e.g. use the first bar of week for open price of week, due to some criminals starting week later than others, and some ending week earlier than others, we can't sync the criminals any closer than using the criminal's own first and last bar of week.

In the attached pics, we see weekly and daily are different. Why? FXDD closes earlier than 5 PM Eastern on Friday, so ends last week with different price than MBT (used in pivot calculation), and starts new week also with different price than MBT (used in next week's pivots and Tuesday pivots).

So although I have done the best I can, I must agree with Bob and others that we can't sync the criminals (even if we want to).

Having said that, my daily pivots are certainly closer TRYING to sync vs not trying at all. BTW, it's not about just adding sunday to monday which existing pivots do, but moving the start of EVERY day of week to 17:00 Eastern.

As far as EA, no, I never got the stoploss down (wiggle room plus volatility? and how volatility was figured?), so never got as far on CTS as I did Bob's, where I got to R:R, which is needed before putting on a trade. Then came CTS being put on hold because of changes with 10.3 which CC must have thought would affect CTS. Then I noticed that all brokers weren't giving same signals, brought it up, and the rest is history.

Kindest regards,

Don

Also, getting the open's synced is just part of it. Getting the iHighest and iLowest to use the correct bars is the other hurdle, which I have not overcome. If I had, then my daily pivots and S/R when using syncing would match on FXDD the daily pivots and S/R when using no syncing on FXDD. So although I've overcome one hurdle, I haven't the other.

Don

Maybe it would be easier to use Bob's preferred broker Cowboy IBFX as the "main" account and copy the signals over from an Cowboy IBFX demo to another broker?

Or maybe FXDD better yet (for the higher timeframes)? As long as the real acct crim price feed is either the same or not too far out from the demo!
Problem might be keeping the demo running I believe...
