Hereby my results for trading HGB during the week -- I updated to a new version as and when it became available, with the last version being 1t. (I know, I am a bit slow following the updates, or another way to put it, Steve is too fast producing updates) So, as the EA has been rapidly changing it is hard to draw any real conclusions from this. Everything was OOTB, except for the lot sizes. This is on a $25k demo account, with lotsizes of 0.1 + 0.05 for the stack trades. At no point did the margin level drop below the 1000%.

If I would have stopped trading on Thursday mid-day, I would have banked over 4000 pips for the week. However the last two days were not that great -- also it didn't help that I manually closed a 600 pip draw down just before the markets closed on Saturday morning. This draw down could have turned positive on Monday morning, who knows. For the second week in a row, the Rad-trades were the top performers, but all trade types were positive....

Hi,Everyone

A few weeks, SBB (version v1o) and HGB (all versions) test the effect is not very good.
SBB in the real account initially performed well, rising from $400 to $921 (Steve setupfile, but 0.03 lots), but in December 9th 16:30 (GMT+2) back to withdraw 50%, although later earning some, but the overall losses of more than $300.
HGB, from the original version to the latest version, various settings are demonstrated, but never profit.
Therefore, by comparison, I think SBB is more reliable.
What I did wrong to you, HGB? Anyone have any good suggestions? About version? Setting? Or other?

Thank you very much, all.

Zheng,
I have the same experience, unable to show a profit from HGB in the different versions and four different 'brokers' both live and demo, I thought that GP demo with settings OOTB, Steve's and others posted would show some benefits but only for me slow steady losses. (The market also took near 50% back from my FB accounts this week).
This weekend I will uninstall all instances of platform, currently the 700v, and try with a clean start Monday as it must be some problem with execution within my pc's or this version not to share the results posted. The one item I am struggling with still is to cure the '130 invalid stops error' but I don't think this is responsible for my poor results.

I can assure you that the underlying system works perfectly as I have traded Bob's HGI indi manually on a small FXCM account this week and show an amazing (for me) 62% gain.

Foreverforex for my multi- time frame view of HGI signals I simply load Renexxxx's HGI Matrix indicator three times and format each to fit across the screen and set to the three time frames I am interested in.

Find HGI Matrix indicator at

I am using hgb v1h in demo testing using GP broker from 5 Dec 14 to 12 Dec 14 and made AUD80.00. Though the result is not great but at least it survived the last 2 days of trading i.e. 11 & 12 Dec 14. Would like to share my set file and hope it is useful for some of the members here for further testing.

I am using equity of 2K and lot size: 0.01 & leverage: 1:400. Maximum DD is AUD106.00.

I am using TrendTrade, RadTrade and WaveTrade and no RangeTrade in the Demo. Also using BE/JumpingStopLoss and no trailingStopLoss is set.

I'm testing HGI/HGB on lower TF and would like to be able to easily see this info on each pair, I'm flipping back and forth between charts manually. makes my head spin after 45 minutes of 5 minute candles!

Everybody,

Like I mentioned before, a lot of the great performance on all EA's lately was due to the JPY weakening. Last week the JPY did some major pullbacks, and took a chunk out of our profits/ balance.

This has nothing to do with the EA's being used, but all with bad settings (including mine).
Last week showed us we need to look seriously at some SL settings.

I can show a chart with 26 winners and 3 losers, ending up negative for the week....

It is proven here again, there is no such thing as a free lunch.

Here is my update on performance since starting a new demo when version s arrived, (Weds lunchtime UK) OOTB but a 50 pip SL/TP on range trades. Treading water a bit since a stellar start on Weds. I've also added an analysis based on the time the trade opened UK time. London and NY sessions much much better than the overnight period. I've included all closed and still open trades.

V 1y is in post 1.

From various bits of the UG:
  • HGI Inputs: We do not need any of the inputs the indi uses, so there allow you to use different time frames and control how often HGB calls HGI:
    • HGI_Name: this allows you to chose which of the indi versions for the EA that you like to use on your chart. Bob has two in his templates, a light and a dark. If unsure, have both the indi versions in your Indicators folder and leave this input alone.
    • HgiReadDelaySeconds: trust me to know what I am talking about when I state that you cannot have 28 instances of HGB calling HGI at every tick. Your CPU will explode. By default, this input causes the indi to be read once a minute instead. You might even be able to go to 5 or 10 minutes. Refreshing the chart display is also CPU intensive, so it makes sense to me to set your ChartRefreshDelaySeconds (see Odds and Ends at the bottom of the inputs) to the same value.
    • Higher time frame inputs: these allow you to take signals on your trading time frame that are in the same direction as those on a higher time frame:
    • HighestTimeFrame: a zero value turns this filter off. Set this to the numerical value of a high time frame (D1 = 1440). HGB will then only allow trades if it finds a large green or red arrow on one of the recent candles.
    • HighestCandlesLookBack: how far back in time to look back for a large arrow.
    • Medium time frame:
    • MediumTimeFrame: a zero value turns this filter off. Set this to the numerical value of a medium time frame (H4 = 240) to tell HGB to trade only in the direction of a Trend, RAD or Wavy line on the current candle, or the previous one if EveryTickMode is 'false'.
  • For the manual traders:
    • UseForTradeManagementOnly: tells HGB not to send trades, but to manage trades sent manually:
you must set the MagicNumber and trade comment correctly when you trade, so use the scripts in Scripts.zip if you want a >0 magic number.
    • UseForSignalsDisplayOnly: enable this if you want HGB to do nothing more than show signals – for example if you want to filter your trades through a higher time frame.
  • Mike's individual pair as a basket inputs: magft (Mike) has contributed code to this EA that allows us to treat the pair it is trading as an individual basket. This is different to using mptm to treat all open trades as a basket. Imagine you have 3 GU, 2 EU and 5 GJ trades open. Mikes code allows us to treat each individual pair as a 'basket' and manage each 'basket' individually. The inputs are:
    • BasketCashSl: the individual pairs' basket of trades closes when their combined loss hits this cash total.
    • BasketCashSlPercent: the individual pairs' basket of trades closes when their combined loss hits this percentage of balance figure.
    • BasketCashTp: the individual pairs' basket of trades closes when their combined profit hits this cash total.
    • BasketCashTpPercent: the individual pairs' basket of trades closes when their combined profit hits this percentage of balance figure.
Watch the default HGI_Name input and make sure it still matches the HGI version you are using - it defaults to the latest version.
