This is no bug, you must allow dll imports in the common tab of the EA settings to use this EA with all it's functions.. Cheers Tommaso |

Yes, Tommaso is of course right. If a chart has already been opened for the selected symbol and timeframe and you click again on the same arrow, the code will attempt to activate that chart (i.e. make it the active chart). Unfortunately, there is no native MQL function to do this, and therefore you have to call a WIN API function that is residing inside the user32.dll. If you won't allow Empty4 to make function calls to external DLLs, you will get a message in your Experts tab, and the activation of the particular chart window won't succeed. It is easy to call this a 'bug', but it really is not. |

First I want to say I am in no way trying to be contrary Leon. I am just trying to wrap my head around your post and logic. I will use the example I posted here http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 80#p136633. On every time frame from 5m to H4 the MAs had crossovers within the look back period to take a trade long but it was all based upon stale signals. The ONLY way a trade would not have been enacted is if look back was set to a much closer period than a full week. Even a day would have worked fine. There would not have been a crossover within that period for H4 and so the trade wouldn't have started. That being said I guess I don't understand how look back doesn't matter. For medium term trades like you take I would think you would want only the most recent crossover on H4 so you can get in at the beginning of a trend or continuation. I understand of course that it does leave a limited amount of time i.e a day, for things to line up such as strength so the trade is taken and it would keep you out of a long trend where the H4 MAs never cross for weeks so there is a downside for trading that TF. I read your post over and over and I guess for me it doesn't really back up your origin point of look back shouldn't matter. The original idea of Georges about fresh and stale signals imo plays a part in everything this EA does. Of course one SL on a pull back up against multiple TP trades along the length of a long term trend is also a very valid argument also lol. |

Hi Neo, I thought you would have come in here Pullbacks happen all the time and that is why I say that it will be good to have a set up where we can evaluate each currency pair and decide if we want to include it in the trade for the day ...I do believe that Rene is working on a solution for that.. Neo i think you must re read what I have said trades are only opened if my smaller t/frames are in conjunction with the ma cross so trades are only opened based on fresh signals based on the smaller time frames but in the direction of the medium term trend. Ideally i would like to get in the swing when it happens but I am only trying to help for the benefit of traders that are getting into trades and the system now Tc |

Ok, So here are my trades opened with the pound showing strength against the yen and dollar two trades opened Neo in some way I understand what U are saying and I think u want the trade to open earlier but unfortunately this is the lag effect that we get from Ma's. Single line Ma's might get u an earlier entry or if we cut out the 4 hr strength an 1 hr strength u might want to look at increasing ur trade parameter with a higher Ma and look at a lower timeframe entry.. The choice is urs but right now my two trades running at 50 pips plus |

Yes, thank you goes to the U.S. CFTC for not allowing US residents a true choice of brokers as well as imposing severe limitations in leverage and trading styles. |
