I expect the results to ebb and flow in this way. During and immediately after a straight move the "imbalance" Exp should lead due to lower drawdown from not taking additional positions on the wrong side as price moves.. it's relative disadvantage is that once there is a retrace the standard RnR will take it's advantage while "imbalance" Exp requires a further move either way to move ahead.

The way I see it the standard RnR will be more profitable when price action is moving within a range and "imbalance" Exp will be safer and hopefully still profitable when price breaks out. I am thinking perhaps swapping between them for different sessions and/or market conditions could be one way forwards...

Letting go of HGI now with this and just using CSS H1 or H4 to define long, short or both ways during range : (H1 when I'm home and H4 for night or when out and about .. the push alert is a handy call to action).

Just to update on this test now the dust has settled from Brexit.

The only disaster was the hedging version which we kinda already knew but I thought worth including for Brexit in case it surprised.

Next we have my manual attempt at choosing one way direction based on H1 CSS. I kinda lost interest in doing this after Brexit as the delayed direction changes didn't prove any benefit!

So that leaves the original version (magic 0) as the most profitable and the Imbalance EXP version (magic 1) as the lowest drawdown. I took various snapshots during and after Brexit for my own analysis and the Imbalance EXP had approximately half the imbalance and half the open positions immediately following Brexit compared to the original version. From the trade report we can see that it actually traded 50% of the total lots compared with the original version and provided 74% of the total profit. This seems like a worthwhile difference to me and I am now trading live with this imbalance EXP set.

Additionally on the same account I am trading an M5 version of HGBnG which is profitable in it's own right but also acts as a nice counterbalance during a move to further reduce drawdown. I feel comfortable with this combo hands off now with 0.01 per £5000 just keeping an eye around major news. This is just that little bit more accessible than 10k although of course that would be safer still.

Margin restrictions excluded .. If I had traded this combo live during Brexit with 0.01 per £5000 it would not only have survived but turned a very tidy +19% profit with draw down fully recovered now only a few days later. I reckon this is as good as it's going to get for now. Fantastic Work. Very pleased.
