Sad days indeed when our German brothers prefer a Pizza over the excellent currywurst... :yahoo:

At least you have not abandoned the righteous schnitzel, truly a food of the gods...

Second to the famous schnitzel is the divine original german döner (doner kebab).

Where the H1 global market trend was sharply decreasing recently (from trend back to ranging) correlates with where my baskets got stuck this week and last week. I have added a red line to highlight these days. So what I am thinking is to only build baskets when the H1 global market trend is turning up from the bottom and make it the last basket as it levels out at the top. Have no idea whether this will keep corrlelating but just an idea I am going to play with....
Very interesting indeed TGF. I am up $900 on a $5000 demo account (across the last two days) and I am at that point of thinking am I going to lose half of this on a turn down at some point soon. But I thought that yesterday when I was at $500 and now I am at $900

Something like this could really help with those decisions as to when is the best time to bail out and maximise profits. I am currently closing on MA crossover which works great with a slow change of direction but when it's quick you can lose half your profits before the cross.

Now the drawdown did get a bit heavy on that last basket this morning so if I had used the Global Market Trend indi yesterday perhaps I could have avoided the drawdown.

Will see if I can gauge when to stop before the next turn. I will make this new current basket my last (after all 9 baskets in a day is pretty good going!) and see what happens next. Now If this works then coding the delta of Global Market Trend as an option could just be an awesome filter....
I got that last basket and have closed all now for the night as the H1 global trend has had a strong run today... What will be interesting is whether the trend continues through the night and straight up for the rest of the week and I kick myself for missing out on more or whether there will be another pullback and chance to reload some more baskets for the end of the week.

We trade individual pairs like this (looking to buy dips in an uptrend and sell rallies in a downtrend) so why not approach baskets in the same way using the whole market as our barometer? If we miss a bit of a strong global trend who cares.. we got some baskets (sometimes a lot!) along the way and there will always be dips back into a new range. The nice thing here is there is no direction to pick.. just whether a trend is accelerating or not.

Simliar patterns seem to form too ..right now a perfect W with a test of the middle to determine what happens next.

:hi: Glad you like the idea.. in theory using the whole market as a signpost this could be predictive for individual pairs (and hopefully baskets) rather than reactive. Acting cautiously the worst thing that will happen is that you will get in too late and out too early ... but almost certainly with profits if the whole market is moving to support the positions held.

My biggest problem trading manually is I get in too soon and often out too early anyway so if this helps with timing at either end it could be very valuble.

Agreed - it's such a hard thing to get the entry/exit correct. It will be an interesting day as there is plenty of news coming up for Thursday.

Best way for me is to run a non-basket and basket account and see how it goes over time.I've got rid of plenty of pesky little losing trades so now it is just finding the sweet spots to exit.

Pullback during Asian did provide chance to start up again so I've now reactivated the EA again since the global market trend has turned back up breaking it's own trendline. I would expect it to follow through straight up now for the rest of the week but let's see.

At this point I really do need to say thank you to Baluda because I am sensing this is a genius indicator. And since we are using the updated CSS Super Slope as the bread and butter in this EA perhaps it is nice that we can factor in the original CSS in this way also through the Global Market Trend.

Hi TJF, i've been running some visual backtests with the Global Trend MTF indi and I must say I'm impressed.

Indeed, the last couple of days have been not too profitable for me running this 24/5, and coincidentally all my countertrend EA's are doing nicely over this days.

I think we should give this indy as a chance as a filter! Genius thinking

It seems to me that whatever you try, the basket will close as long as there is some sort of CSS involved.
Due too a typo, one of my demo's started opening trades at midnight. Nevertheless, it closed this afternoon because bad trades were hedged, and good trades were stacked.
Because of the sheer amount of trades, it reached 4% after the last trade was closed instead of the 2% that triggered the closure. Yesterday it was the other way around, 1,5% instead of 2%.

Was the difference due to the big amount of trades and the time it to close them?
