I should be doing something wrong... as I don't manage to change lot size (account is 5000€): Already tried different settings and to restart Empty4. Your help is appreciated! |

It only works when there are no open orders. I managed to find a workaround for changing the lotsize with open orders; There is a line in the code that says something like 'lots=orderlots //we need consistent lotsizing' around line 1840, depending on the version you are using. Comment the entire line out with // and you can chance the fixed number of lots. Lotsizing depending on account size won't work anymore though. Good luck! |

Where everybody else jumped on DottyBot and I couldn't get it profitable using the previous versions (know why now), I kept playing RnR on demo as well on live (over $700 profit last week). Watching it trade and digging itselve in a hole everytime again, I kept wondering what a directional bias would mean for the results. Bruster was so kind to add yet another feature to his EXP version; a MA with all possible settings. I put up a new demo with; #0 plain vanilla RnR, Steve's version. 5 pip grid, ComplexSingleSideOffset allowed to mimic the settings on the other two. #1 RnR EXP with 10 period SMA on the M15 #2 RnR EXP with 10 period SMA on the M5 The results were "interesting" to say at least...... I set it up late tuesday, so only 3 full day's of trading are included. #0, plain vanilla. 1112 trades, $360 profit, max DD $2.229,74 
#1, M15 10 period SMA.380 trades, $263 profit, max DD $466,94 
#2, M5 10 period SMA.508 trades, $278 profit, max DD $375,05 
The difference is immense in my opinion.I'll let this demo run for a few weeks more, results can be seen on http://www.fxblue.com/users/2051543 The small difference in profit between the plain vanilla and the EXP ones will easily be compensated by the option to trade higher lotsizes due to much lower DD. 0.01/$5.000 or even higher might be possible. Also, I'm running a previous version of the EXP live with minimum TP=15 pips. This also makes a huge difference. Time will tell. Attached the EXP version with the MA option, play with it and lets find the optimal settings together.  |

Thanks Gertje, will give your Bruster enhanced version some DEMO play. It will be interesting to see what RnR can do with some directional help. I ran RnRExp OOTB on 5M last week but for me results were no good. MaxDD 83% and ending with $370 loss. I am a schijterd, That DD is more than I could handle on a real account.  Another version RnRExp OOTB on 15M had MaxDD of 19% and ended with $24 loss. Unfortunately another Empty4 instance with 'standard'RnR completely frooze couple of times, so can't compare 'standard' vs 'EXP' version. Freezing was due to DB with CSS enabled.. will have to sort out what happened. BTW @Gertje: looking at your FxBlue results it appears that RnR was doing poorly from 23.00-8.00 and especially on the 5M. Is this the lack of movement at that time combined with the running on only 5M timeframe? This time effect was less on the RnR at the 15M timeframe. |

Hi, FXBlue arranges the trades by the hour they were opened, so not much to say about that. Maybe in the long haul one can decide to stop the EA to open new orders during a certain period. I'm on holiday at the moment and haven't looked to close at the individual trade results. |

I've been testing V1o since June 24 after Brexit, it is doing great in the 10,000 account. I suddenly discover that the latest version on page 1 for the original RnR is 1p, only 35 people have downloaded it, it seems not a lot of people know about it. I've read through carefully all posts after p35 in which V 1o was announced, there was no mention of 1p. Would someone kindly enough to tell me what is the difference between 1p and 1o, thank you in advance. kwchau |
