I am trying a DEMO with Cowboy IBFX, Australia, price was very jumpy this morning, and this is what Online Chat told me about market times. Client Services 80: Cowboy IBFX has always aligned its opening time with 6 p.m. EST USA. Cowboy IBFX has no plans to open any earlier than 6 p.m. EST USA on Sundays. On the other hand, this change noted by Bully Pepperstone below, I'm told, was in response to overwhelming demand from customers to align with New York 5 pm market times. On Sunday the 4th of November 2012, the Bully Pepperstone Empty4 Server time will move one hour backwards to GMT +2 hours. This is to reflect the US Eastern Standard Time – Daylight Saving Time change taking place on the 4th of November 2012. Bully Pepperstone bases Empty4 Server time on “5pm New York”, the internationally recognised end-of-day in the forex markets. With the US turning clocks one hour backwards the Bully Pepperstone Empty4 Server Time will also move one hour backwards. How does this effect me? The only noticeable change that you will experience is that the Market Watch time in Empty4 4 will now be set at GMT+2. This might not effect your trading at all – however, depending on your timezone, this may cause the market to open one hour later on Monday. The Empty4 server time will still open at 0:00 on the charts, this may just be an hour later for your time-zone. |

See, we're doing the right thing for US by going to 17:00 (5 PM) Eastern as start/end of day. Cheers, and thanks Snowman just for another verification of international recognized Forex day time. Kindest regards, Don |

The issue between 1H and 4H is simply what you see on the screen. Many times you dont see everything on the screen with 1H versus 4H. That problem can be simply solved by having on the 1H screen Y>P or Y<P. Even like the slope indicator it tells you BUY or SELL or RANGE. SO that part is easy to solve. The other part is I am basically a 4H trader. That is where I make my trading decisions, my mind is wired that way. I have a 4H profile I look at, make my trading choices and then I go to default profile and make my trades. Some of them will be on 1H 30M Daily, but most on 4H. It just gets aggravating in the morning of dealing with all the do I want to continue EA message and clicking back and forth. I go to 4H profile, read my charts then back to default to trade. So whatever you do, if it ends up in the system will be on my default profile but my decision pages on 4H will stay as their own profile. Hope that made sense to you. |

This is what I've come up with. I would discard previous versions, since I had to change to use website George gave to get Eastern time, while still using another one to get date. Works on FXDD all timeframes below D1 (of course not D1), but needs testing on especially on other brokers. Bob, I guess as far as practicality is why I see using H1 and if needed place TmaSlope D1 and H4 on H1 if needed using multi-timeframe TmaSlope indicator. It's not just because I don't like switching screens all the time, although that's an added benefit. Hopefully I can look at your updates and show you what I'm talking about after that. Believe me, I'm not wanting to take away from your strategy. If at any point I don't like it, there's something else I'm trading live right now anyways, so don't have to do your strategy. But I want to. Note: I think the DailyPivot indicator has a free buffer to use, so it looks like I can combine the DailyOpen and DailyPivot indicators, but will save that for another day if it gets done at all. Just would save resources by doing so, since bunch of same code is in both indicators. Now that I've done what I set out to do (could NOT have done it without George, thank YOU George!), we can move on to more *cough* important things Kindest regards, Don |

With this system the slope indi becomes less needed because you now have direction clealy laid out and as long long as white is above green on a buy you can follow the strength of the move. After using the TMA slope true I am going back to the original slope. It tells a story that the true does not. I will be writing more about that later in another thread. It will flip out the repainting issue with people but by not repainting I am missing the predictability of the strength of the move. There is something the repaint slope will tell that the true never can and I am going to point it out and go back to the original slope. |

Don, great work - As I am with Bully Pepperstone I am luckily on NY timing Today I entered so far the following trades: EA, GC, EN, GU, EJ, GJ (all sell) at the moment all are somewhat negative but EA is +15 the rest -2 to -10 pips :/ - I should have waited for retracement - well.... I am going to setup my MPTM with two Magic Numbers: One for scalp trades with 103 Number - and one for the longer trend trades (other magic number) - so that I can stay longer in the run as suggested by bob. Lets see how that works! good luck to everyone |

My latest indicators are not working on Cowboy IBFX I can tell. Bummer. Anyways, my FXDD charts look right If you see StartHour as 0 but Eastern Offset is not 7 like my FXDD, then your charts are wrong if you're using my indicators sorry to say. Kindest regards, Don |

Bob, Have you ever compared MACD using 8,17,9 (Dinapoli settings) vs TmaTrueSlope? Neither one repaint. Also average can be made of it just like has been done to TmaSlope. There's angle indicators also, which basically do the same thing. I've even made a Diff indicator that does same as TmaSlope (it's just an average number of pips difference between MA last bar and this bar). Different look, but does same thing really, and it's not repainting. Just my thoughts. Kindest regards, Don |

The issue of different broker times etc is easily solved with the 2 indicators attached. One is for daily pivots and has a time offset which you can change to suit your broker time. The other is an adjustable daily open line, which again, can be offset to the required time [you can get it to show European open, NY open etc as well as the start of a new daily candle]. Have a play around with them. And if you can't figure out what time you need to set them to, then I fear that trading forex is not an endeavour for you................... |
