I manually shut trade, 2 hours, but arrived two hours later, EA directly open trade, did not follow the principle of 12/6 ma. See below:

Thanks Trader Joe! The EA is excellent in managing trades. However, SL will be quickly hit if using MA SL. For example if I placed an limit order at say 21 MA and making it as SL also, it will be hit quickly. That will be the case of MAD ea as it is MA ea. So I think it will be better to have a SL first and then switch to MA SL when price are x pips away from the MA.

The way I would do it is use the longer MA as the SL .. for example if your trigger is a 21/42 MA Stack then 42MA could be the SL or say with a 5/21 MA Stack then 21 would indeed work as SL.

I appreciate this may not be sufficient for what you want to do but it's worth experimenting and comparing your results to an ATR based SL to see if there is anything worth pursuing here and share your findings with us next week.

.... as an example here are is GPBUSD for March. Top chart has 5/21 LWMA and 21/42 on the bottom. I've highlighted entry to exit zones (candle before or after blue vertical line depending on wait time setting between trades.. to candle before red vertical line)if we used the longer LWMA as SL. The actual entries would obviously depend on the strength / weakness of the currency groups based on our chosen settings.

It's interesting to note that using 21/42 in this example is so much cleaner than 5/21

Do check your set file fo rthe AA_H1_23filter and MAD_H1 timefilter. Both contains TimeFrameXX=0 for multiple timeframe entries with intention to also activate strength test too for them. At least that's what it look like seeing it from notepad.

sorry for only getting back to you now...unfortunately my computer broke down currently using a lab top and trying to catch up ... lost quite a a bit of information :arrrg:

Anyway because I am a medium term trader I enable my ea with london open and let it run 2 hours into the london session. If trades were opened I will asses it as prices do tend to retrace towards Ny open...So my aim would be to lock in profit as soon as I can and if going nowhere I will just close it. NY is my favorite trading session as prices tend to break out in the direction of the trend...most of my drawdowns have occurred in that dead spot between london and new york :( at some point I might even consider trading NY only..If my entries are good and I am locked in I will keep my trades over the rest of NY and Asia but I do not leave the Ea to trade after London close....
