Interaction between the EA and a User I believe is important. I observed that the EA when overbought/oversold still sending trades which later turn into dd. I suggest a button is needed like START, PAUSE and RESUME trading. With these button, a user could layout where trades be populated in line with the direction of the Market.

The PAUSE button will stop sending trades for the moment and allow the trades to mature and then RESume when dd is manageable.

Such a thing is already in place, called "stop trading".
Make 2 setfiles, one with stop trading "on" and one with "off" and switch between those two.

I put up a new demo with;
#0 plain vanilla RnR, Steve's version. 5 pip grid, ComplexSingleSideOffset allowed to mimic the settings on the other two.
#1 RnR EXP with 10 period SMA on the M15
#2 RnR EXP with 10 period SMA on the M5

The results were "interesting" to say at least......
I set it up late tuesday, so only 3 full day's of trading are included.

#0, plain vanilla.
1112 trades, $360 profit, max DD $2.229,74

#1, M15 10 period SMA.
380 trades, $263 profit, max DD $466,94

#2, M5 10 period SMA.
508 trades, $278 profit, max DD $375,05


The difference is immense in my opinion.
I'll let this demo run for a few weeks more, results can be seen on http://www.fxblue.com/users/2051543

The small difference in profit between the plain vanilla and the EXP ones will easily be compensated by the option to trade higher lotsizes due to much lower DD. 0.01/$5.000 or even higher might be possible.

Also, I'm running a previous version of the EXP live with minimum TP=15 pips. This also makes a huge difference.

Time will tell.
Attached the EXP version with the MA option, play with it and lets find the optimal settings together.

Hi Bruster,

I changed the ComplexSingleSideOffset to 'false' for all three demo's since the weekend, and last night I set the minimumpipprofit to '15' for the 2 experimental versions.

Also, I replaced the plain vanilla on my live account to the new experimental with M15 MA, like in #1.

EDIT: when the pair is in range mode, like GBPJPY yesterday morning, the original beats all without a doubt. When the pair takes off, the MA makes sure the EA only trades in the right direction and kicks ass. Since there are no/ less losers to set off, profit is bigger than the original.
