hello Jemook,

yeah your TMA h1 idea is great. i too have been thinking about how we can avoid triggering baskets during retracements and i believe the answer could lie in the lower timeframe TMAs...

what if we filter the trades with the following conditon "only trigger basket trades if the currencies in question have both their m30 and h1 TMAs beyond the 0.8 and -0.8 threshold. "

this way, we only trigger trades at the peak of price action momentum. we could've avoided today's london open basket since i believe the m30 n h1 TMAs were well within the threshold whilst the h4 n d1 TMAs were beyond 0.8 n -0.8.

what do u think guys?

I'm not really looking at the TMA Slope to see if the pair has retraced enough. I'm looking at the TMA Outer Bands on the 1h:

EG; for a short:
when price reaches the opposite (upper) TMA band on 1h and the higher TF is showing a strong trend it's time to kick Shelley into action. It should be doing this across most of the pairs that Shelley wants to trade too.

Also I like looking at the range of the 1H TMA bands (top to bottom) to know how much to target for each currency. Ie; right now there's ~100 pips range for 1H TMA in AUDUSD so I can set my TP to the AUDUSD to ~80 pips and should be golden as I expect it to go from top of TMA to bottom of TMA.

So check this out:

Calculate the TMA range for EACH currency pair Shelley wants to trigger and add them up. Then divide that by the # of pairs she wants to trigger and it should give you the approx #pips to target for AdaptivePipsTakeProfit :D

Guys I need some help - I have for the first time put on Shelly, latest version posted by Steve... Two different demos, once with normal Shelly once with ShellyPlus Gary other wise OOTB

1. Normal Shelly set to open 0800 EST- all sorts of orders were opened and immediately closed, nothing since...

2. Strangely ShellyPlusGary (i had set 0800 EST in both instances when compiling EA) also opened all sort of orders at the same time and closed them all.... And no orders since

Pls be gentle - what do I do wrong?

entered 11am (GMT+2). This is not to say London open won't take exactly the same t/p with my same settings, but I guess its less stressful if the e/p is "optimised". I say this loosely, as one can never predict the future, and its always easy to talk in hindsight.

3 basket on separate demos run today - all GMT -
07:45 start +approx 250 pips
08:00 start - closed at BE + a few pips
08:15 start - still running but BE locked

I thought it could be in trouble today and nearly turned it off prior to any of the baskets opening but I thought it would be a good test.

Hi Cytek. Already closed on 254 points. Was a bit nervous.
On the previous page Jemook has detailed description on when to start Shelley in time of replacement.

I agree. A lot depends on your SL settings too - you need to give it a lot of breathing room imo. As we are only taking trades in the direction of the prevailing trend, any DD should be due to retracement unless we are very unlucky - not a huge trend change.
