The indicator was coded by an user named "Alan", but I do not know his nickname (maybe bob or steve know?) the mq4-indicator could be one of that ones: http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 070#p75070 http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 592#p74592 |

Thanks Bob. One of the ways to filter this would be to wait for a close of the H4 bar before launching the trade. I believe Steve's EA has this functionality ie: A: Wait for move above/below STO level and trigger OR B: Wait for a close of the H4 bar, then check if the STO has moved above/below the STO level before triggering trade |

Most of the JPY pairs continued going up. CSS daily shows it clearly, but no currency will stay forever at the top/ low. What goes up will go down ... USDJPY (or may better EURJPY, CHFJPY) |

Harry, thanks, now public. Yes that experience with the price going through something and not doing anything is the same as what I've described here. I had the same explanation. The thing to do is: tools > options > charts > show ask line. That way you can at least see it when it's happening. I don't know how to see the history in Empty4 this way though. I did this while it was happening and noticed that nothing trigger when both ask and big went through my point. So I've opened a trade enquiry. re: STO alert. I was just thinking similar things, wondering if an email alert could be done from the James Roscoe's dashboard? Steve, I totally agree and understand. This is why I was using another platform to place trades... until that broke too. I don't like any of the software out there though... maybe Track n Trade... but really I'd prefer touch screen and ability to see many timeframes by zooming with high res. There should be a list of problems with it somewhere and their potential fixes. For example, I sometimes miss that the connection has dropped before the disconnect sound went while I was away... the screen should dim or something... Although Empty4 is annoying and terrible it is the only thing trading has to a standard, without it we'd be tied to brokers. The fact that we can take a known platform and move brokers has probably done a lot for competition. It's just a shame that trading in general is so old fashioned. I couldn't believe how out of date everything is coming from Bitcoin trading. Not much in the way of programming languages... having to rent a windows VPS because there's no linux commandline program to place and program strategies... many things are soo expensive... hard to audiolise prices (why do we use visuals anyway? sound is so much better...) |

Your is the same as mine CSS which is the 24 pairs. Amount of pairs is up to you you can specialize in what you know or have a variety. You will want as many JPY pairs because that is a known quantity as far as fundamentals. Let me tell you what I dont trade eur/chf, eur/gbp, aud/nzd they just dont move enough to deal with aud/cad can fit there too. I hate the chf and never seem to do well with that one but that is probably more personal than reality. chf has tied itself to the euro so it is the same as trading the euro. I will trade gbp/chf over the eur/chf because it moves more and can get more pips. usd/chf and eur/usd are basically the same. The only exception is the aud/chf. I like trading it because when it changes direction, it changes direction. It doesnt mess around stagnating. Once you get into its trend it is a nice pair to trade. Just look at a daily chart and see the nice V patterns when it changes direction. I trade the NZD quite a bit because it usually follows the aud on the CSS chart (not recently though) So when the aud changes direction I start looking for NZD change of direction. I love trading the gbp/nzd and eur/nzd. They are wild rides and really move. To other people trading those two can give one a heart attack. Since the first week of August I have gotten over 3000 pips on the gbp/nzd alone 111 wins and 20 losses. that is about 9 winning trades a week and less than two losers. If you look at the monthly its 1400 pips up one month 1400 pips down then 1400 ups and then 1400 down. Just ranging nicely until ...................???? The USD has been in a range since Obama took office so not too difficult. Just look at a monthly chart since 2008 and you will see what I mean. gbp just ranges and easy to trade and CT trade. Good luck |

I never like the Close of a bar because you may miss the whole move during a 4H candle. I have tried solving that with MAs by doing the equivalent on a lower time frame. For example a 15 on the 4H is a 60 on the hour or 240 on the 15M. I dont know if you get equivalents with STO doing that but that is a possible solution. Of course with 10.4/6 we use other lines like DP, xxx.00, xxx.050, and 1H 15MA lines to enter so that is the solution I have come up with for that issue. |

Bob, how has been your trading with this system in december? are you still trying to get to BE on other trades or you think you will be able to trade as it were any other month to see how it behaves? What does "EDSEL" means? |

I am closing down the year which means when a currency profits or BE I close it out and am done. Unless its so obvious, like gbp/nzd, I will trade those. I had two sets of trades I did in November which I regret. The JPY had shown all year that at the end of the month it would strengthen so I took chf/jpy and nzd/jpy sells. As you can see I got my brains beat in. I cleared out the nzd/jpy the first week and chf/jpy the second week. So now I am sitting pretty. All my trades left are positive swap trades so I can sit on them all month and let the swaps build up in my account. So I am neither up nor down this point of the month. My plan is to trade this next week some just to test the system but by Friday I am done win or lose. Obviously i will be trading in such a way so as not to affect my good year. No need for me to risk anything at this point. Edsel is a car made by Ford that lasted only 3 or 4 years back in the late 50's. It had dummy (warning) lights on its dashboard letting you know OIL, GENERATOR, BATTERY, etc. When we came up with the bars for direction I called them dummy lights and Edsel seemed appropriate. A picture of an Edsel is on every one of my posts. Beautiful car but didnt sell well.
