I now use Steve's Pipmasher on steroids, rather than my own manual method. It is a good system with extremely good results. Mind you every now and then I manualy intervene and close/modify/add trades rather than wait for the EA to do it for me.

I am moving discussion about all this over to the steroids thread by locking this one. I only want to have to develop one flavour of the bot, so it makes sense to me to make it that one - I just added ATR tp and sl coding to it.

I will be doing no further development of the original PP. PPoS is merely an extension of PP, with multi-level trading and ATR easily disabled. It makes no sense to me to duplicate features.

Send me a pm if any of you guys want to keep this thread open and I will unlock it. It makes sense to me not to split discussion but am not going to be dogmatic about it.

I'd vote for leaving it open, please. Some of us are trading the system manually, and a a place to discuss it is useful, IMO.
I reopen this thread with pleasure. Please just remember that my interest in the EA has moved to the PPoS thread as I described earlier. Please ask for refinements to PPoS there, not here as I shall not be reading this thread.

Please come to lots of useful conclusions guys. PPoS is merely an extension of PP, so stuff you work out here is easily added over there.

Alternatively, should you guys be discussing manual trading in you own separate thread? PP does have its own separate forum, after all.

Let me know if I can facilitate anything you guys need.

It is really great being a forum owner and being able to type a para like the previous.

Within the limits of the software and Tommas's expertise, you can have what you want. Requests by pm to me.

So who's still on the Pipmasher bandwagon?

I am, but still on demo. Due to my own psychological issues (nothing to do with PM) t took a fair amount of internal fortitude to stick with it during the recent consolidation, but it's paying off.

Taking trades risking 1% of equity my demo is currently up 69% since 13 January. I am trading PM with some discretion (a visual check of trend really) and using trigger at 0.2*ATR beyond the high|low to enter. My SL is 0.2*ATR beyond the low|high (the other side of the trigger candle), but IMO I can probably tighten that. I currently don't have any stats to verify that.

My TP has been 2x risk, though I'll move it away to let the trade run once I am manually moving the stop to tighten it. I trade any pair the broker offers, if the lot size is small enough to allow me to keep risk at 1% (so, no indicies)

I had 3 trades stacked on EURGBP until recently when it spiked to the TPs (should have moved them). I am happy to stack trades once the preceding trades have had the stops moved to at least BE. So in reality I am probably over-exposed to some currencies.

I observe that, given the reliance on last month and last week, it can take PM some time (up to a month) to take note of a trend change. There have been many times when I would have said "ooh, I'd take that short", but the PM rules wouldn't let me. It's been a good exercise in discipline.

It's a low-impact way to trade. It takes me about 10 minutes a day to manage trades, and given the "speed" of it, I can do it any time over a few hours.

So what stops me going live? It is largely the size of the stops compared to the minimum lot size I can take. I would like to start risking $20/trade or similar. If the stop is 400 pips away, I can't scale down that far. My intended solution is to either man up and start risking $50-$100/trade, or use OANDA for now, where I can scale down. I just need to write a bridge for turning Empty4 demo trades into the API calls for OANDA's fxTrade.

Just musings. I am really grateful to PC for sharing his system/.. I hope it's paying dividends for you.

I had 2 trades open just now on EURGBP.
Close 1 and tightened the stop on the other. Look at the this chart
Top blue line is where paused a while back, if you know supply/demand you will know why from looking at this chart.
The lower red line is where I have set the target and I'm expecting price to bounce here.
Just sayin'.... make your own call - this post is for those of you that have't zoomed out to look at where price is headed.
