Thanks Mathias - I use H1 10/40 MA Stack with a Shift 1 eg closed candle and then H4 MA Single 1 with Shift 1 to confirm direction for entry and then nothing but "Close if Ma's Cross Back" for exit. Under no circumstances do I want to take another trade after a trade closes until the next cross happens only and then I'm back in. So at 10am we have a buy signal with MA's crossing and the EA takes the buy trade and then it hits TP of 60 pips or perhaps a basket trade closes 10 symbols at once. At the moment that one currency or all of those 10 currencies might reopen at the next candle as they still have a valid MA buy signal and are above the H4 40 MA. This can result in massive losses as the TP might have been 60 pips up but the price then drops by 100 pips and you lose out. So to avoid this if the EA knew that once the TP was taken absolutely nothing happens again on those symbols who have been closes until the MA's cross again and then things just go back to normal. This would be the same with CSS crosses or whatever I would think. PS - Maybe an admin can move this to the EA thread? |

Then I get it. I am not sure if you will really benefit from it in the end but I put it on the to do list. Such a requirement also means that it is only valid in some circumstances. MaxTradePerSymbol=1 is one. Will have to look more into that later. BR Mathias |

Can someone direct me with a link to where I can download the EA? I've been searching through the forum and can see set files, but can't find the actual EA. Also, the site keeps logging me out every couple of minutes, requiring me to have to log back in. |

It is a long first post but at the end you have the latest draft and the helpfile. Then you need to fetch the hgi_lib.ex4 from the HGI thread. That is what you need to get started. I will shorten the notes in that post later as soon as current version is stable enough and baselined. BR Mathias |

...5 Baskets closed now this week but M5H1 is building way too much drawdown so I am going to cut this one now. It confirms the importance of higher timeframe direction. H1D1 drawdown has stayed below 5%. 2 basket from M5H1 (magic 1) 3 baskets from H1D1 (magic 2) |

As they say, the biggest secret to short term trading is to lengthen the time frame (think it was Larry Williams who said that). I have a question for you TJ, and perhaps Mathias if he'd like to chime in, (some great work you have done with this EA Mathias). Is it possible to counter trend trade with this EA. Example, when the currency line falls below whatever threshold you set in CSSDiff, the EA flags this as a sell, what about if I wanted to counter trade that and make that a buy. I played with the settings by putting -ve numbers in etc. but didn't seem to work. I'm also having problems with CSSDelta, from my understanding it's the change in the CSS value between whatever 2 bars you set, but the values shown in the dashboard seems to take this difference and x2. The value you are using TJ is also set to 0.04 which seems really quite low to me, that's only a very small change is it not? Maybe I'm not understanding it properly but a higher threshold should lead to better (and less) trades if I'm reading it right. Haven't tested this myself yet, I just want to get a proper understanding of some of the variables. |
