Zennor, nice results. How do you choose the 2 or 3 pairs that interest you? Look at the strongest/weakest currencies in CSS and trade those pairs? Using that approach I would not have picked GBPCAD -- GBP is pretty dead-to-middle in both D1 and H4. USDCAD looks a bit more promising, but on the H4 I would have thought USDCHF or USDJPY would be the best bet.
Hi Gary,

The reason that I chose GBPCAD is in reference to one of my earlier posts about the nuisances of the CSS INFO page insomuch that when one currency crosses another and especially at such a steep angle as the CAD then there is a chance for a good trade. For example today despite what has been posted on the forum about the JPY I bought that today insomuch as I sold the CADJPY for my 1% gain first thing this morning and hit my target plus some as my maths was a little out and I achieved 1.7% gain on my account today.

My thought process for the whole trade was this.
CSS, CAD crossing down over a rising JPY.
Go to chart, good I'm looking to sell and price is below 240 MA, but as somebody on here has already posted this currency pair has not been respecting this line of late so why did I choose to allow it into my calculations. Simple really, the 240 was near as damn right on top of the WP.

OK so at 7:00AM what am I seeing on my charts, three candles with wicks through the WP. But the kicker for me was the bear engulfing red candle which engulfed the two white candles previous, this indicates sentiment to the move. Now I ask myself where do I think this this price is going, well down but how far and is it far enough for me to scale in a trade or two for my 1%.

I notice as strong support line @97.515 which is just below the WMSup 1 line.. That support line is 67 pips from my entry, I need a 33 pip move to hit target, so all is looking good. On top of all that if that was not enough the CSS had turned gold, JPY was just about to cross on top of the CAD line and RSI had just come down from the upper levels. Looked a solid trade to me.
I place my trade, 5 minutes later it has retraced 10 pips so I place my second trade. I go to work, come back home and see that target with a little extra has been hit.

I have also been looking at angled trend lines on the CSS INFO page and whilst still early I am seeing some very nice possibilities for this angle of attack on the daily data.

very interesting zenor, youve got this sorted, thanks for helping us who are struggling, youre gbpcad trade, looking at the css page, can you explain a little more, because the gbp was angled down the same as the cad,so why did you decide on that pair, good call though

AUD is treating me well.

I decided to put my money where my mouth is, and opened and account with Jeremy.
Funding just got through and I'll set the Empty4 up later today. If SH-forum and MT4i allows it, I will provide a link to the account in my signature.

It's a $2.000,- account where I will start trading 0.01 lots.
Congratulations Gertje. Seems you master the system. If the DD still high maybe that's the way to go, just trade in the future with lower lots

I would be most concerned about the AUDCAD short. If you look at the CSS info page on D1 AUD is kind of flat (although weak) and CAD is dropping like a stone - they are converging. On H4 CSS they have crossed and are diverging with AUD being stronger. Could be a pull-back but with the way the D1 CSS is looking it could be a reversal. Only time will tell but jumping on a short here doesn't seems like a good idea imo. EDIT: I forgot to mention AUDCAD is also at a major area of historical support and BIG BIG round number - parity.

EU is a little similar.

The JPY crosses are getting interesting again.

Cheers,
Dave.

Not sure if my system is working properly but I have attached a screenshot showing EU. I am new to this system and trying to figure out how this is a possible short. Whilst EU is below 240 ma it broke above EU in last candle. The CSS has changed from golden to green rod. On the daily CSS I have both USD and EUR above 0 with EUR strengthening (albeit slowly) and USD just starting to decelerate back to 0.

As I have said not sure if my force history script worked correctly so maybe my data is out of sync.

Appreciate comments

Hi, Bob

I´ve been reading this morning some stuff about technical analysts from City using a 12 SMA monthly to enter and exit in SP 500. It seems 12 SMA monthly gives (after a backtest since 1995) the most profitable signals. A 12 SMA becomes a 1440 SMA (!) in 4H.

Maybe 1440 is too slow, but the cross of 240 LWMA with 1440 SMA in 4H seems a very interesting enter/exit point.

Hi Art,

the reason for the chosen pair was that the CAD had recently dropped through the USA, EUR and now the GBP without so much as even a glitch, I mean this currency was and is decelerating at some speed. The GBP was pretty much going sideways but that alone did not make my mind up, I had to look at the 4H chart.

There I noticed that the price had been bouncing off the 240 MA for the last few days, now that CAD was below the GBP on the CSS INFO I expected a rise so I waited for it to hit the 240 once again and scaled in a few trades.

Hm. CAD crossing down over rising JPY, so you must be looking at the D1 CSS. I wouldn't have expected that for a short-hold strategy like you're describing. Meanwhile on the H4, CAD and JPY have been nearly parallel for the last 24 hours. Which is odd considering CADJPY has dropped 200 pips in that period!?
