I did some backtests on Crap4. On the order tracking log, there are lots of null profit transactions. I check them all and found they should be profitable. Perhaps the Genetic Engine fooled me. Then, I run forward testing, it proves the EA sound. So we should use Backtest for a rough eval only.
Besides, I found FXCM has ForexConnect API that lets you plug-in and test your EA using C/C++. I think we can convert Steve's EA to C/C++ and give it a try in demo.
Hope that somebody here and make a tool to embed EA of Steve, NB and others and run directly to FXCM's gate, that's fun, since you can bypass the VDP in crap4 as well as plugin Matlab or Amibroker for RT analysing the EA.

Anyone know how to reset a demo account?

Would like to have a clean sheet when changing setting for an EA.

Account History being the most wanted reset, as EA's that manage their own trades keep posting P/L based on it.

I remember the Options/Server tab having a field to change starting balance (not the Create Login one)
but don't see it anywhere anymore.

Alternative is to open another Demo, Alpari UK not too fussy about that, but don't want to keep doing that.

I'm pretty sure you can just right click on accounts in the navigator and just open a new demo account.

After getting it up and running I usually just delete the older numbered account by right clicking on it and then delete.

Let us know if it works or not, might be broker dependent?

Yes that's what i do right now, and have done so quite a few times when hadn't been using demo for few week so it expired. New one is just few clicks away.

It's just that i vaguely remember being able to reset the balance. Not sure if that wiped history as well, so i guess opening new demo and deleting old one is fastest way to go about it.

Hehe. I went for about 3 years thinking the only way to start a new account was to start a completely new demo. Bit of a bugger when all I had done wrong was set an incorrect input that resulted in an ea wiping the demo. :lol:

Anyone still monitoring this thread?

I have a question about screen registration - I guess that is what you would call it.

Frequently, the indicators are all jammed up. See the right portion of this shot. You see how the support labels are overlapping the price and pivots? Makes it durn hard to see. This happens on a variety of indicators, like iExposure Tickets.

How do I stop the text fro being jammed up?? Occasionally I get lucky and am able to go into the code and change a number or two, but it's just hit and miss if I am successful or not. I really don't know what I'm doing in there. Plus, I don't really want to have to customize every indicator.

I have a feeling it has something to do with my computer's set-up. For this monitor, I have it set to 1600x900 resolution. Everything else, meaning other programs, pictures, etc., looks fine.

Anyone?

good new with v480 Empty4

1.Terminal: Added one click trading panel

2.Terminal: Increased the number of allowed parallel trading operations for MQL4 programs - up to 8 parallel trade requests are allowed now. This ensures uninterrupted simultaneous trading of several scripts or Expert Advisors - it means that it is almost impossible to receive "Trade context is busy" error code in normal conditions.
