Hi Jonathon, Your mtf Ichimoku indicator for D1 on a 4hr chart is certainly of interest. If possible, I would like the opportunity to trial its use on a manual basis and see if it compliments the 10.6 trend for potential entries. I had to stop the EA on my VPS demo platform due to some heavy losses. Regards Geoff |

Hi I have looked at the mtf but could not get the hang of it in the coding I then took the H4 Ichimoku settings 9,26,52 and created a D1 version by using 45,156 and 312 (multiple of 6 of the 4h period) It is a good fit. I then took the Tenkan and Kijun off the screen and focussed on the interaction of the 2 clouds and the Chinkou spans. 1. Classic Trend i.e. Long: H4 cloud above D1 cloud and price breaks the H4 cloud with momentum confirmed on both H4 and D1 using Chinkou Spans relationship to each other and price (26 bars back and 156 bars back on D1). Works well with exits using break of H4 cloud and momentum reversal. 2. Reversals (different logic to Classic Trend long or short) so for Short H4 Reversal as per pic below H4 cloud is still above D1 cloud (so looks like long BUT H4 cloud is heading down and price is below H4 cloud. I then use the D1 cloud as a major support resistance to set a target profit. Again this appears to have legs. I use Cloud span B D1 as the TP at point of trade entry. However if when price meets span B D1 and has not reached TP and does not break Span B D1 then exit. The basic testing shows promise with NP to DD of 3.2 over 5 years on EURUSD and EURAUD. The other positive indications that this could have legs is that it is leaving pips on the table look at trade 4. I attach the rough not finished not refined EA here .. development path fraught with pit falls on over refining etc ? Note the EA I have attached although messy with many redundant variables that I must remove the EA does not require lots of settings and works on the above trading logic using support and resistance from H4 & d1 Ichimoku clouds.. Hi Jonathan - I see you are developing this EA further ! Good to hear that. The existing version (post 1) gives so far very mixed results: http://www.myfxbook.com/members/TGT_FX/ ... -h4/896002 So I think atm it would be better to stop the test and wait your new version (posted above) after making the code bugfree ... :hi: |

Thanks AGT like many development processes this will be a little lumpy. Especially since process is limited to weekends. Anyway .... I am sticking with Ichimoku and moving to a MTF view where Daily S&R levels also drive H4 S&R and trading decisions on this TF. I am focusing on The CLOUDS and the Chinkou Span MOMENTUM within Ichimoku and can see light at end of tunnel...... will clean up EA and post developments. Jonathan |
