Yea ... kind of  ... you know  ,I think, I (finally) understand the concept in general, it just the "proving" part thats still left me ..  like when i ask mrs. goog about that, and she shows me bunch of mathematical equations ... Maybe i should take this slowly, and learn 'how' to code TZ zones in Python first ...  Many Thanks. |

I'm still working on my indicator that uses PTZs, and I have it setup now for the plan to display some stats. When I hit the stat button it clears everything on the chart (solid black except for buttons) which will allow me more space to place statistical information. Any thoughts on the current look? |

Thanks for commenting on it Thx, I might release the code for this later when I get some basic stats showing, but I haven't fully decided on that yet. It is still fun messing with it though. I love some old Pink Floyd sometimes too |

The answer was 42 when I calculated the background. I added some basic stats, but I want to make sure that the values are correct before adding more. Here is an example. I guess that the TF needs to be there also (image is from a Daily TF). |

Stats is what drives Transient Zones. What I don't understand while looking at your pic is how you could find PTZ in almost 189 % of all bars. There must be a lot of possible entries.  Edit: Ahh - now I see: you distinguish between Possible PTZ and Total PTZ. As I understand it right now PTZ stands for Possible Transient Zone. What made you add the second 'possible'? |

Every time I look at it, I don't like the percentage being able to be higher than 100% for possible PTZ, but if each new candle was higher and lower than the previous, it can have a top and bottom PTZ for each. The second possible came from me wanting to see how many PTZ are possible based on the Bars Calculated, and the HLeft value. When I process each candle from the oldest candle towards the newest, I think that there should be enough candles behind it to reach the HLeft value, or else a PTZ is not possible there I would think. So I subtract those candles(HLeft) from Bars Calculated, then multiply each candle having a possibility of 2 each. Then I look at the Total PTZ that occurred out of the possible ones. I'm not sure if this is the best way though. |
