Hi AG V4.31 is the most profitable but only when we change Amount25=25; Amount33=25 It looks like if we don't close the trades at $25, some of them will later reverse and close at a loss. I've done several 15 month tests on EUR/USD and EUR/JPY with 3 brokers and got similar results. I haven't tested it with lower TP values. I'm guessing that if we take profit earlier our success rate will go up. |

Hi Bill. Thank you for taking the time to do this. You're probably right. Although I'd like to know what other setting you used? Lot size? Where you able to save the reports? You know, that to save a report after the B/T is done, simply right click in the report window under the chart and click "save as report" to whichever folder that you specify? Hi AG The lot size was 0.03 I only changed the TP values. I did not change the other settings, it is possible that the profit can be increased with further optimization but in this instance I was only comparing the 2 versions (4.2 & 4.31) with their default settings and with TP=25 and 50. REV 4.31 does not trade as often but the results are encouraging. I have saved the results although I'm not sure if the data I used for the back tests belong to the br0kers or to metaquotes because I had to update the history file in all of my Empty4's. Iit did warn me about doing this but I had no choice because my Empty4's didn't have enough history. Do you think I should run a longer test? Tests give us an idea of what to expect but if you want to optimize the EA then you'll need to analyze the test results against the chart so you should be using the same history file as the one I use. Is there a history file we can both download? Cheers Bill |

Hi Bill. No need. I take B/T's with a grain of salt. It just tells me approximately how the EA is going to run in a general sense. At the moment I'm playing again with version 4.4. This time using another custom Indi in conjunction with the Gann. Looks promising indeed. Hopefully Steve hasn't started building the 4.3.1 yet as I'd like to save him some coding effort. No, but i will follow your advice about set TP to 25 instead of 50, now ... Only a few trades this week (and all profitable since now), but it comes from the strategy of v4.3.1 apparently  |

Hi AG I agree re B/T. Regarding V 4.4 and any future versions, I'd concentrate on analyzing the losing trades and look at finding ways to reduce them but there is no easy solution. Indicators don't always work, the market will often do what the big boys want it to do. cheers Bill |

thanks, Is this on demo and which br0ker are u using? I guess "since now" are the key words. I had to close a few trades manually because I sensed that they had no hope.... |

HI , It is with live account Hot Forex, no trades since yesterday with 12 pairs,... This week 7 trades + 466 pips (lots 0.03) with one trade closed manually, nice indeed I continue to test the v4.2 on demo to compare the two versions. Can't wait for the v4.4 !  |
