Hi Guys,

As some of you may know by now. When I test an ea, I feed in various combinations on a particular Ea and test it over a period on one currency pair. And compare the results. Obviously I use one theme and in this case my focus was on Hgi, flying Buddha and Superslope.

do keep going with this line of thinking and see what develops. This is the beauty of testing with EA's .. there are so many ways to configure (thank you Steve) .. and occasionally we can output a gem.

Just to add on from TJF's thoughts:

I have had combinations SS 1 Day and 1 Hour and SS 1 Day and 4 Hrs, FB 4 Hours and 1Hrs and Hgi 1 Hrs and 4 Hrs. Obviously these trades will come less often but need to be catered for with higher profit targets and higher drawdown to bring the risk reward Ratio in line. Requires alot more patience but worthy contenders for anyone wishing to get into a longer term strategy. Testing it for a few weeks is not enough so I invite anyone to explore these possibilities.

I have also explored different trading timeframes and as absurd as it may seem the 1 min trading timeframe performed better than the 5, 15 and 60 minute. The big diffrence here is that losses where closed out timeously with a change in Super slope direction.

Anyway, Guys the possibilties are endless but in short I believe this is the way to tackle combinations

As an example of what came to me, suppose we are using the sixths filter. The bot has triggered a number of buys on its climb up the chart. It moves into the sell only zone, then reaches the half way point of the sell only zone.

Is that a good place to close all those wonderfully profitable buys and throw a party?

Just a few tweaks on my setfile:

I have decreased the Max number of trades to 5.
I have increased the distance beween trades to 25 pips for any buy stops or sell stops.

Way too many trades, so my attempt is to decrease the amount of trades. Nevertheles the result I can live with

Sounds good and with nice and early FB entries means we are catching a big chunk of the move once price has got that far

There are 'contributors' here who clearly have no idea what is going on. I have deleted their posts. To the other five of you with brains, invoking sixths as I suggested has resulted in no trades - for obvious reasons. Well, obvious to the five of you plus those with the ability to stay quiet when you have nothing useful to say. I am going without sixths for the time being to see what happens. The demo was doing mighty well without them originally and no trades = no fun.

Hi Guys, I am currently testing a set which I believe could be good for a short to medium term strategy. It will only take a trade if the daily superslope is in agreement with the 4 hr superslope and we have a 1hr Hgi trend or blue wavy signal. I have set my profit target at 100 pips per trade and a basket exit at 500 pips. Breakeven will be activated at 5 pips after 50 pips profit with a jumpstop of 25 pips. Please note that my trading timeframe is 1 minute so trades could be closed out before profit targets are reached, but for me this is a safety buffer should we have a swing reversal which could happen if we load an Ea onto a chart towards an end of a run. If you change the trading timeframe to 5, 15 or 60 minutes for example it should make a difference on the exits....something to play with. Hi Guys, I am getting Pm's like. Too many trades opened in one direction. Well here's the thing. It is what it is. Assuming you have the ea set at 5 trades. I have my time between trades set at 2400 seconds. The ea will open trades at these intervals and if all works out fine you will book your profits. But If the trade moves against you will have these trades together with buy stops or sell stops that open inbetween the further away price moves from your trade hence you could end up with many trades. I am working on possible solutions and unfortunately have to forward test this, so patience is required here. Do not load the Ea on more than 3 pairs at a time and concentrate mostly on the Majors: EurUsd, UsdChf, GbpUsd, UsdJpy, UsdCad, AudUsd, NzdUsd. From time to time I load the Ea on the crosses but only, If I have no trades in the Majors. Much will depend on your own tolerance and circumstances. Hope this Helps Cheers Leon

Ok Guys, Just maybe I could be onto something now with less trades being opened. Sorry for this. I hope it is the last time I post this set I have tweaked the 25 pip set file. You should not get buy stops or sell stops. I have increased the time between trades to 3600 seconds. You should only get 1 trade per 1 hour candle. I have included jump stops and break even. Do not be alarmed when you get an error 130. It is because the ea is trying to set break even and it will stop as soon as break even is placed. I have included a basket exit of 100 pips. To be played with. 75 pips or 50 pips could also work. Let me know how it goes. #Hgbdotty & Fbg 25 pips.set Cheers Leon

The latest version of the core library is at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =87&t=5077 The update is of no significance. A member asked me yesterday to create an EA trading single trades purely from triple Super Slope. I was sure that HGBnDnSS could be configured to trade this way and concocted a set file that should allow this. I never see an inputs screen and had forgotten that a lot of the inputs in the library were followed by a comment explaining their purpose, and that the input name shown to the user is replaced by the comments. This is unhelpful to a noob trying to make sense of this stuff by reading the user guide, so I have moved the comments so that the input name is shown to the user instead. Never noticed? Noticed but don't care? You do not need the update.
