I use the MA Cross and the directional change. The MA Cross of two out of three TFs seems to work very good as an entry signal. Maybe I need to include some kind of threshold or Difference between the MA and TMA to make the signal even stronger and to eliminate some whipsaw in less volatile and flat markets.

I don't Look that much at levels anymore since the directional changes can happen anytime, regardless of the level of the tma...this allows to find more Trades to enter. Even in ranging or short trending markets.

And if you check this Triple TMA-MA Strategy for yourself you will also see that most of the time the TMA at the lowest and medium TFs form a peak or valley before they cross the MA.

If the direction of the lowest and highest TF correlate the move seems to be much stronger.

Nothing to do with your Mac, cmeade2, this has completely baffled me too, and I'm no newbie. I don't have any "Apply To" setting that NT refers to.

Do you get the Navigator window? If not, type Ctrl-N or View -> Navigator. Do you have your indicator plotted in a separate chart subwindow? Drag the indicator onto the subwindow as shown & set "Apply to:" to "First Indicator's Data." Does that work? Drag.gif

Hi there, Another example of combining TMA with other indis to precisely spot the direction of current run. Conservation approach is when TMA and Stoch together are forming bottom or top - you enter. Closing is when the opposite is observed. Trading aggressively you can follow Stoch to cross its 85 or 15 levels. If it corresponds TMA direction - you enter. Ex: if TMA is less than - 0.4 (or even better - 0.8) and stoch is just crossed down 85 level - you go short. For a long setup - I am sure you know what to do.

I'm quiet a friend of Fibonacci Numbers and experimented with different numbers from the sequence and the 21 was the best fit that correlated with the 3 TFs I use and where not to close or to far away from the TMA... 13 Was also not too bad but a little to close to the TMA which had more false entry signals. I'm also checking the 34 but as of now the 21 seems to be the best fit for the three TFs I use. But you are free to do some experiments of your own...maybe you come up with a better period...
