Hi Steve, I'm really liking Slopey Slope and i find the EA can consistantly get into profit. Same thing as before with V1d, it gives it all back though. I looked at my charts and in the pic below, you'll see a CHFJPY position for 0.1 lots and it is in profit. until a few minutes ago, there were no SL or TP's in place. I have set TO at 100 at SL at 200 though. Then i noticed that the internal Slopey settings had not kicked in for BE and JS and the position is far passed BE. i tried changing TF's and restarting the platform, but no change. I threw in good ol' MPTM and sure as a dog-likes-bones, the position was given it's BE position first, and then JS settings as Slopey should have. Can i summize that there must be something wrong with SS's code pips/pippettes maybe? While typing this, the markets moved well for SS's positions and i snapped a second shot of the new JS positions that all worked with MPTM, but not SS. - I now am hoping for MPTM to close those positions and SS to open them again when/if the conditions are still good for the position. Remember, these positions with MPTM or SLopey will ALWAYS close with a SL 'red' colour because i dont have a TP ever here. It can only close when a SL is hit, so those checking the stats and seeing red all over, please understand how it works first. The pic will show a setting for TP of 200 and emergenct SL of 100. This is not realistic and the market will never move in a straight direction to these levels. For this method we need the JS and BE settings working to let the position win for as far as the market takes it with-in my allowed breathing pip space. I'm going to remove any trade-management form SS and let MPTM handle this. I dont think a change in the code is necessary at this point, but i'll try and see what it can be for myself and let you know. It wont matter so long as MPTM is doing exactly the same. How is your 1% basket working? UPDATE - 3 positions just closed and SS did not open them again, therefore trend must have changed. CHFJPY is still open and in profit. regards and stay well, cuzgeorge |

Hi all, okay, Heres my SS pic with open positions, all in profit (except for one) and have passed my BE, so they will close in profit. They have'nt hit the JS yet, but hopefully will do so. I'm including the set file that seems to be working for SS, but like some other ea's too, there's something cock-eyed about the trade management, so it's all off on the EA, and i've set MPTM to trade manage. The results are from 28th sept and shows a profit of $408.47 so far. SS does NOT go into heavy DD and appears to be a candidate for a live account. We shall see. |

I have been reading your slopey slope comments over the past two days, Cuz. I think I will try to create a hybrid between BallsToWall/Wolfie and SS, so to speak. SS will give me the angle and slope value that appear to be working fine, and should give me a strength of movement indicator, which the Balls to the wall bias line does not provide. MPTM can handle the details of managing the trades. I am thinking a 240/15 SS system will probably skin the cat, and give me what Wolfie has not, so far. A 20/10 BE and 20 JS comes to mind. I could use the instant TS at say 20, to disconnect at BE. Wolfie and BallsToTheWall Fractals form after a delay, sometimes fooling the robot about S.L. SS does not use them, so entries should be quicker. SS would also meet the "threshold" criterion you mentioned in the BTW thread, rather than being specifically time-based, such as London open. The BTW trade bias line would not be necessary. If this is correct, then a mid-time SS system might fire off at optimal times and ride the waves until angle and/or slope say to bail. There would no longer be a need for a BTW Take Profit, since trades could SL out. The Wolfie stoch and MACD would not be needed, so it would be simpler, which is often a good thing. Just thinking out loud here, Cuz. |

Ehup Guys I have been meaning to stop by here for a while. No idea why the forum alert thingy has not been telling me that there are still replies here. I am still testing this bot on demo. It comes a bit, then goes a bit. So far, since starting the account on 7th Sept, the start balance of $500 is now worth $536 and there are a few trades outstanding with a dd of $8 at the last look. So, the bot has not blown any socks off, but neither has it blown any accounts - not mine, anyhow. I have not interfered either - just let it do its own thingy. One question. My demo is trading V 1c but I see the download from post 1 is V 1d. What does 1d do that 1c didn't. Yes, I know I coded them, but I have coded about 50 bots since then and there is only so much that I can remember. Any suggestions for further development here, guys? |

Hi All, still getting to check the results, no solutions or opinions yet, i closed all my positions manually using the closall script and SS did not open any trades immediately. I thought this strange as the conditions were still valid for some of the posiitons. I restarted the platform only and SS took the 4 positions open right now. They all in negative at the moment because of the spread off-course and the usuall characteristic where the positions lose initially and then turn to winners. All the closed positions Had passed BE except for one. All were winners though. WIll update soon, regards cuz |

The scalping thing is working, Cuz. I (really,Steve)doubled the account since the opening bell (95%profit). One min. charts/ 240 ; 7% risk. Mostly two pairs of EU, but added some more this morning. Running London open through early N.Y. sessions. |
