I expect an upward bounce and have placed a pending order buy stop above the Fast TMALine but below the SMA(20). It looks good for a minimum edge of 2. I am more bullish on EG though as I like the fact that DP did not cross WP as EU did, before hiting a low. We'll see how the trades go.
Thanks CC.

I kinda think the opposite! The fact that the DP crossed the WP on EURUSD means it did a deeper retrace. EURGBP didn't do such a deep retrace, so to me, that suggests there may be more downside to come.

Or am I over complicating things......?

Much clearer now, so glad I persevered!!

CC. Would you be interested in a long on EURUSD when TMA CSS closes above -0.8?

I'm seeing uptrend retracement [according to pivot definition].

Semaphore indicating possible change of direction/end of swing.

We're at the fast TMA line.

We're also bouncing off the monthly piv.
A bounce is possible but i would feel uneasy to long this right now. My Rebeca indicator is showing a bullish slant, but I would feel better if price was closer to the bottom band of the D1 TMA (Cyan). Overall, I will stay away from EurUsd for now. Daily chart is attached.

If the SEMA4X alert (or any indy) can be made to signal it on any TF (maybe with different colours depending on where a high/low occurred e.g. D1 - red, H4 - orange) it will help make lower TF trading safer. For now, I check high TFs manually for SEMA4X high/low alerts & adjust my trading accordingly".

I agree with you. Having an MTF Semaphor appear on the H1 chart with the color of the TF that triggered it, would be invaluable for consistent entries, without having to check other charts. I suggest making the Semaphor the same color as the TMA bands of that particular TF:

H1 Semaphor= Dark Orange.

H4 Semaphor= Magenta.

D1 Semaphor= Cyan.
The Semaphor is ZigZag based.

All we did was adapt the enclosed indicator to give only White signals.

I am not aware of an existing MTF version of the Semaphor and regretfully I would not know how to accomplish this. I do feel it would be nice to have.
If two or three Semaphors trigger on the same H1 bar (for example H4 and D1), it would be nice to have them appear one above the other or overlapping.
Hi Alfredo,

Exactly! Please do you think you can get the guys that introduced this indy originally on your thread to look into this? Many thanks for the help! :D
In the alertnative, please ask them if they will give us a hint. I worked quite a bit on this to no avail. There are numerous period variables in the code and none of them seem to affect the output :?: There are chart periods (time frames) and periods (bar counts) with math throwing me for a loop.

Edit: Upon taking a closer look, I see this thing is zigzag based. Hmm... http://codebase.mql4.com/8238

Thanks, Al. Based on your explanation, I take it then that this is the same version as the one in post 1 and not a mod that can tell us when an alert is hit on a higher TF. Thanks anyway. I guess we'll have to keep plugging at it till a way can be found.

Yes. This is the multicolor version but not MTF.

Hi Al,

Ofcourse, the euro is retracing this week, and any long trade will be extremely brief & intraday but the whole point of this trade is to prove the system.

If a system is reliable, it should work more often than not. I am not expecting much from this trade (most EUR** pairs will probably be giving emerging DT signals by tomorrow; AUD pairs are faring better today) but the trade should still deliver an edge >1, maybe EU will hit DP at 1.29 then turn downwards. The thing is that EUR pairs need some room to build momentum for further downward movement, hence the bounce. We'll see...

Cheers,
CC

Edit:
The EU trade has now hit the BE trigger level of 25pips for a small BE of 5pips so is now a no-risk trade. Let's see if it will hit TP of 1.2910...

Hi all,

I've had a few PMs about my "Eureka" moment [!], so thought I'd post details here for everyone's benefit. It's not exactly earth shattering, but it has helped my understanding of CCs strategy no end!

Basically, I just used Ted's excellent cheat sheet [many thanks Ted!] to check each pair I'm monitoring [just the majors, EURGBP and a couple of Yen crosses].

I assess what the pivot "status" is and actually write it on my chart and place a vertical line at the point where that status started. If you do this for all the pairs you watch, you will soon begin to understand CCs instructions.

For example, here is EURUSD:
EURUSD.JPG
And AUDUSD
AUDUSD.JPG
And Cable
Cable.JPG
I'll be doing this every day as soon as the new daily pivot prints [end of NY session]. That way, I know what I'm looking for at the start of each European session in terms of longs or shorts.

However, I will be applying some discretion to the definitions - or maybe giving them a grading.

For example, Cable is currently defined as uptrend retracement, when clearly, price has been moving down for some time [on an H1 basis].

Anyway, that's it! Like I said, nothing earth shattering, but it helped me a great deal and hopefully it can help some of you guys.

Cheers,

Rob

I set Histo Level to 0.55 and it did it itself!!

VERY annoying that you can only have one histo level showing though. If you put them in on the "levels" tab, they disappear whenever you change timeframe or restart your platform..........
