Apparently you had some real bad luck with having open buys just before the market dropped.
RnR caused the majority, I switched to DB as it is better in handling the offsetting.

RnR seems to have moved a long way from the original, so I only keep a distant eye on what is happening here.

I am not sure it does a lot different. We have got complex single sided offsetting licked. Not sure if that matters here.

We are still struggling with 'invalid ticket' errors but are slowly solving the problems. There might be a few thingies there that might help here. Only a suggestion.

The additional routines added attempt to mop up any trades that should have been closed but didn't and should avoid the unknown ticket errors. I've updated post 1 with version EXP 1f - which is just the 1e patched version given by Pivotter previously.

For the past two days I ran 1 identical setfile in 4 sets of two started at different intervals (RnRExp1E on a VPS on GP Demo).
Monday 15.00 I started two (151 and 152), 17.00 another two (171 and 172), 20.00 another two (201 and 202), and 23.00 the last pair (231 and 232).

After 2 days difference between 151 and 152: 33 pips
After 2 days difference between 171 and 172: 340 pips
After 2 days difference between 201 and 202: 134 pips
After 2 days difference between 231 and 232: 1181 pips :o

This confirms my earlier results where I saw huge differences between results of identical setfiles.
It also means that I have to reconsider results of my earlier tests. Poor performing setfiles might just have been unlucky coincidences.
E.g. Last week I ran 2 sets where I compared a certain setfile with both 1E vs a 1Epatched.
In 1 setfile, 1E performed similar to 1EPatched with only 200 pip difference after the week.
But with the other setfile, 1EPatched ended 4700 pips lower than the 1E non-patched (Open+Closed).
The difference proved to be caused by ComplexOffset closing a group differently on Tuesday, resulting a bigger sell/buy imbalance before the 3 day long leaky toilet downwards.
It would be very easy to draw incorrect conclusions that one is worse than the other. Most likely the difference between Patched and non patched was just a fluke similar to the difference between magic 231 and 232 above.

This variation within identical setfiles will make the comparison between different setfiles quite a bit more complicated.
I will repeat this test but with a different setfile with recovery mode False.

This indeed gives some remarks to making statements purely based on pips and their differences.

Hello.

I still had a demo running of RnR v1o.
When I first started the ea I did have a huge drop quite fast on the 6th of july (BOJ I beleive) and the 12th of july (Carney speech, from 4.2k to ~1.5k) but after that it was only rising. The ea was only removed the 4th of august (GBP rate change).
I'm always removing the ea on high impact news now, be it JPY or GBP.
Now back at almost 3k.
