Or you could set the DEBUG variable to false. (Located just below the external variables.)

Paul and dietcoke,

Thanks. Used Paul's suggestion to fix display format problems to large extent on MultiBob EA and Baluda Slope Strength Indy.

Further questions for Paul:

1. Can we delete D, W, M pivot column entries so as to make space for other columns; perhaps also color code some 'key' entries red/green depending upon their long/short status?

2. Wouldn't it be a good idea to include Baluda CSSDiff and CSDiff (slope strength and strength difference) as additional columns in MultiBob as from the Baluda.mq4 1e edition with the same options ? This would basically complete MultiBob with Baluda, NB and CTS options, all-in-one ?

Regards,
Athar.

Paul,

I've been digging in to your code and I think there's a bug in this part; maybe I'm wrong but check it out maybe:

//+------------------------------------------------------------------+
//| verifyCrossOver( int symbolIndex, double price, double line ) |
//+------------------------------------------------------------------+
bool verifyCrossOver( int symbolIndex, double price, double line )
{
if( maxPipsCrossed <= 0 ) return ( true );

double diff = MathAbs( price - line );

if( diff < ( maxPipsCrossed / symbolValues[symbolIndex][iPipFactor] ) ) return ( true );

return ( false );
}

I think the test should be:

if( diff > ( maxPipsCrossed / symbolValues[symbolIndex][iPipFactor] ) ) return ( true );

Thanks anyway for your great efforts !

Athar, I use MultiBob as an indicator/signal alert by running on a demo account and using mt4i Trade Talk to send me alerts. ( _http://www.mt4i.com/appstore/app.aspx?id=13 ) I can then decide on possible live trade entries and exits, while testing Multibob at the same time.

Attached are my MultiBob v 1.2.14 10.2a demo results from 22/10/12 to date, with no intervention. 50-50 win/lose, but winners are bigger than losers, so far..

yamez,

Thanks.Downloaded M4Ti.
Your results look comprehensive... at the end going from 50% to 55% in live trades is what trading skill is all about, regardless of EA :)

This are my Multibob results running since 8 october, fixed 0.01 lots, 28 pairs + silver & gold, sl and tp 0 (auto), and all 10.2 and 10.2a on:
http://www.myfxbook.com/members/lilac/m ... one/398753

Pivots 85 trades, 14 losses 16,47%
D1 17 trades, 0 losses 0%
H4 40 trades, 5 losses 12,5%
BB range 3 trades, 0 losses 0%
WPC range 4 trades, 1 loss 25%

It doesn't look bad, but unfortunately the losses are much bigger than the realized profits in pips amount, so the Return on Investment is not so good. It was up to 24% a month, but went down to about 2% due to bigger losers than winners. I realized that gold and silver were losing more than winning, so i will remove those 2 from now on, and will test further only 10.2, which seems to be giving better results.

I also wanted to limit the number of trades it opens, because the DD is quite high sometimes. I have a setting of maxstacktrades=6, but MB usually opens many more than 6, I'm seeing more than 20 trades sometimes. But i guess i can better reduce the exposure by increasing the margin level check % from 600 to 1000.

Let's see if we can improve the ROI this way. Btw, I was trying the CTS signals too on another demo, but onlly when i was in front of the computer, as these need to be placed manually, so I missed a lot of them, but the ones I took for the past weeks were *ALL* closed in profit, so CTS could be promising. Can we automate the throwing of this CTS trades, just to be able to test and evaluate all of the triggered trades when we are not near the pc?

Cheers and thank you for these developements

MultiBob has Zeljko and Only Trade Currency Twice options to prevent over trading. From my testing they do work, although I am not using them.

To quote Steve Hopwood, "useZeljko: this option ensures that a second trade including one of the currencies already being traded is 'balanced. The easiest way to explain this is with an example: Buy GBPxxx open, so only sell GBPxxx. So, if the buy is GBPUSD, then only sell GBPJPY, GBPCHF etc. The rationale is that forex markets are highly sensitive to big movements caused by international events. If something drastic hits the GBP and you are in two sell positions, then both are heading horribly into drawdown. If one of the trades is a buy and the other a sell, then one is going down the tube but its balancing buy is heading for the stratosphere.

onlyTradeCcyTwice: using the balanced pair example, the GBP is now involved in two balanced trades. Another trade involving the pound will unbalance the trades and leave the trader exposed to a horrible counter-movement. This filter prevents the GBP from being involved in any further trading of different pairs."

Thanks yamez,

I was already using onlyTradeCcyTwice=true, but i will also set useZeljko to true now, and increase margin level check to 1000. That will lower the DD. Thank you.

Hello Everyone.

Am not sure this question is right for this thread but would like to know about TMA band angle.
Am newbie and like to have MultiBob for M5 and M1.
I am trying to code EA and would like to know how to access the angle/direction of the TMA bands through the code.
For instance if the bands face at arround 2 o'clock i only place long trades and 3 o'clock can take both buy and sell.

Thanks phaholj

Well been testing for a while now and the bot has lost about 20% of original balance. There seem to be too many losses compared with wins and the wins are not compensating for the losses. How are other people getting on lately?

I noticed that I had the Take Profits set at 100. I think this was the limiting factor - as this is a trend trading system, to make ends meet, we need to let winners run. I have now set take profit to 1000 and I will trail stop losses manually under the last swing high/low on the daily charts to see if that increases profitability!(unless there is a way of automating this that I have missed??)

I'm using all the option (10.2a, CTA etc). It started with promise. Maybe the sample pool is too small and it needs greater time over varying market conditions. These markets are tough to trade - even the large Forex Profits are down at the major investment banks this year the FT was reporting today. It said many traders were sat on the sidelines due to Central Banks' intervention messing up normal market conditions and trends.
