Nearly 9 months is a damn good test and I am grateful to you for keeping it going. I am running Eaymon's power VPS (http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 103&t=5282) and so have some spare capacity; I will restart testing this bot. I only abandoned it because of limited capacity - I traded it live for a while.

It is great to see the renewed interest in this EA folks. Please continue to contribute. :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap:

I had never lost interest in it but I have been per-occupied with improving the Awesome.

As you can understand there are many ways to trade this EA and some ways are more efficient than others in collecting pips, but IMO we want a balanced way where the DD is not growing too fast and this is the reason for my adding of the 3x symbol closures.

9 months is a good time but Gertje was fiddling with it before December so we don't know what the account would have looked like if he hadn't.

Also, imagine what would happen to a small account if the EA was caught in the long GBP Brexit trend with multiple GBP pairs in the -ve.
As you know similar trends do happen from time to time as central banks and governments re-adjust their policies. Therefore IMO we will have to be trading as if we will get caught in 1 of those and we could be holding DD for a very long time. This is where my interest in the Zeljko filter comes from.
The Peaky had it but it was during the early days and I don't know if it was working properly.

Your statement about the Brexit and similar events kept nagging in the back of my head for the remainder of the weekend.
I just chacked the D1 charts of both the Swissy massacre and the GBP Brexit crash, and guess what, they were both in favor of the D1/ H4 sixth when keeping the strickt rules for entry and exit.
Of course the huuuuuuge spread during the Swissy made trades hard or even impossible to close, but in the days after that things cooled down a bit.
When trading the PoS D1/ H4 one would have made a killing then, instead of being killed like me at the time.

Even if we stick to D1/HA I don't know if we will ever be safe.
Unfortunately when we seek high rewards we will have to accept the increased risk.

My preference is to try and recover pairs early, and starting with same pair trades 5, 6, and 7
and if the symbol closure doesn't manage to do it, I will then have to do manual recovery.

However, if our exposure is limited to only 1 pair and not several, then the DD would be acceptable
and we could simply let the EA do the recovery. it may take some time but it should recover the pair using symbol closure, ( set the symbol TP after 10 trades to something low eg= $0 )

Another option would be to enable a distant SL so every now and then we will take a hit.
And If the SL of a few trades is hit then it will be easier for the remaining open trades to recover. :!!:

I follow the thread, but have no idea where to start testing. :smile:

I'm trading PoS and CandlePower [un-directional, no TP or SL] on live accounts, and have my hands full with those.
