Steve has warned us a few times that to trade this EA, you MUST have sufficient margin in your account to cater for events like this.

I am doing ok in both my demo and live accounts although there is a big DD right now. However, the drawdown is about 40% less than the maximum now. I hope there is no further black swan event which is bigger than this one. :!:

I really like this EA but I want to know if any one has been using on his real account? and what was his experience , I have been testing on demo for the past three weeks with my old laptop and results just GREAT :yahoo: even with all the circus happening with GBP pairs lately

Hi Asmahan,

I received your PM and here is my reply.

In terms of codes, RnR has no issue. I seldom encounter error messages running both live and demo. RnR is quite profitable in a normal market but it's single greatest risk is overtrading in a leaky toilet market. Like now, the drawdown is about 40% which is the highest since end of June. However the principle of high risk high gain always applies. If GBP turns around in the near future, RnR will be very profitable. Therefore the key is to have enough margin in the account to ride out these high DD periods.

You should follow Steve's recommendation on leverage, I think you will be safe if you do. Then RnR will slowly and surely accumulate $$$$ for you.

I liked RnR, but I stopped testing RnR as I had quite some errors in both VPS and home instances.
I wondered if RnR needed some of the recent coding improvements that Tomele did on Dotty to improve stability, but apparently RnR is already running stable for you.

I will step in here.

RnR begat Dottybot, who left his dad a long, long, long way behind.

There could well be problems with RnR that were passed on and then been solved by Thomas in DB et al. I neither know nor care as I have long since moved on from here.

Those of you who find RnR profitable: wonderful and I am thrilled for you.

Those of you who do not find it profitable: I do not care. Nobody is going to sort this out. Move on like the rest of us have. It is not as though I do not give humungous pointers to noobs in my Welcome message, and vast nudges in the right direction in my wrup. Up to you guys whether you take a blind bit of notice of the forum owner. There are loads of really stupid people who ignore him.

Absolutely the Dotty family is the main way forward. The Dotties contain most of RnR and expand it with a lot more.

But I was planning to do some DIY coding on RnR with the information that Thomas kindly provided in the Dotty thread as side-project. A learning experiment for myself to see if I can get rid of the errors that I got when testing RnR months ago.
I know that some aspects of RnRExp were deemed to be a failed experiment, but I am not yet convinced that I have exhausted the thorough testing of all goodies that RnR has to offer.

BTW no need to PM me for updates or modifications. I am no coder so my adaptations might not work until after many iterations. And I will first need to test any adaptation for at least a couple of weeks :D

IF I find anything worthwhile to share I will report it here in due time.

I deployed RnR to my live account on 5 Oct, just before GBP crash. Given enough margin running GBPJPY, it survived, recovered, and now back in profit. :clap:

I don't encounter any error message so far. Could anyone share what kind of error you found?


I still prefer RnR over Dottybot as Dottybot opens too many orders for me (running 3 pairs) and maybe over account's limit soon in my demo. However, HGInDB looks great for me and I am waiting to see if it can be fit with my account requirements. :D

Who knows what kind of errors if you dont really specify? :(

I have been testing this piece of art since three weeks and it is stunning and no issues whats over , except for the main DD which can be easily solved once you activate the safety filter of MA

I intend to continue more testings and take it further with additional slow chart and MA to see what happens

Max DD was around 13%, during GBP crash :)
