this question can't be answered as this would be an extreme move, caused by the results of the Brexit vote.. No indicator is concepted for such rare extreme events.. Cheers  Tommaso |

Just to add to Milanese question it normally takes 2-4 days for an indicator to recover from an extreme news event. That does not mean NFP etc. unless they are extreme. I suspect by next week Tuesday most if not all Indis will be up and on que again. Thurs. and Fri. Will be wild days probably and next Monday will be recovery. Then each currency will go into their aftermath trends. Whatever happens will affect the market for weeks. |

The indi works great if the news follows the prevailing mood or strength. Two weeks before gbp went weak because a poll showed Brexit could happen. It rallied some just before and during the election but it still was in the prevailing DT. So when the news matched the DT the indi was accurate. If no exit the indi would show the change of direction but with a delay as it processed the new UT. So when it comes to news stories the indi is going to be accurate most of the time because the news doesn't look good so it shows DT then further news will agree with DT direction. Kind of a chicken and egg argument. |

Hello. I have been forward testing for a while and revising basic documents these couple days. I trade GOLD (XAUUSD) and indicator seems working fine. (Yes, i am aware it have been replied many times the indicator works for gold and other products). I found this explanation in HGB user guide. >TMA works by looking at the change in prices over a period for Sterling and the Dollar over all the pairs that they are a part of – GJ, GC, AG, UJ, UC etc. It 'weighs' their strength and assigns this a value: From this background. what is XAU weighed against? Or, for non forex product, is HGI indicator working purely based on TMA slope (LWMA/ATR) ? Thank you, fxbell |

XAU is weighted against USD and will so work with HGI in same way like every forex pair.. HGI works perfect with currencies, futures, metals and other instruments, if there will be enough history disponible ( best >550 bars) Cheers Tommaso |
