I am testing TraderJoeForex set files from page 22 for 1 weeks.
It's make many pips. But still loosing. Same same as qvintus member testing.
So I setup new Empty4 and disable partial close in MTPM.
Next week I will update again.

The thing with partial close is really this should be more than the distance to SL if you want positive return to risk. So if the stop loss is say 2 x H4 ATR then partial close should be no less than 2 x H4 ATR. If it is lower then you may well make pips but loose money.
I do not use partial close or MTPM global with MAD-EA though. I am currently testing a few different exit strategies and will report back in a few weeks.

Hi Wavegarrick, any updates this week with those settings?Wavegarrick » Fri Mar 11, 2016 12:05 pm wrote:Hi Guys,
Through a logical thinking process I want to attempt to show you that it does not really matter how far you have set the look back with reference to Rene's very clear 4 step process that he has once again given us with clear guidance.

This is testing result from TraderJoeForex set files (page 22) form 10 march until now.
It's make many pips but not so much in profit $.
I think it's not profitable because partial close.
If we change a little bit about setting may be it's profitable.
Sorry for my English.

Since I wrote my post, I have been trading and watching and thinking using the H4 settings - the entries are good so we need an optimal exit strategy. This all about not being STALE so leading indicators aren't the way to go. That was what made me think about modelling or forecasting so that once there was a major divergence from what we expected we could tighten stop losses or close positions.Wavegarrick » Sat Mar 12, 2016 7:08 pm wrote:Hi Guys

I know SL and TP are forecasts but in this case only a forecast for one pair, not for the combination of strongweak pairs so we have not built in the interaction. My mathematics is somewhat rusty but I did think about correlation, regression, standard deviations etc. and maybe there is a solution there. Beyond my very grey cells I am afraid.
I am by nature a Naked Trader and have always liked the idea of supply and demand zones as really showing the state of the market. If we accept that supply and demand zones can be identified by the support and resistance indicator, would this help understand what is happening across markets for a combination of pairs with open positions? Could we combine Strong/Weak and Support/Resistance to design a signal to start tightening SL and closing positions. I attach a screen shot of the two pairs I have open at the moment to give a picture of how this looks - I am using MAD_EA on the H4 time frame so my reasoning is that any exit signal should be based on the H1 timeframe, i.e. one time frame lower.

Why not just look for a break of trendline around these zones?passgo » Thu Mar 31, 2016 3:19 pm wrote:Since I wrote my post, I have been trading and watching and thinking using the H4 settings - the entries are good so we need an optimal exit strategy. What trend line would you use or are you thinking of trend lines drawn manually?TraderJoeForex wrote:[quote="[url=http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 82#p137882]passgo » Thu Mar 31, 2016 3:19 pm[/url
Why not just look for a break of trendline around these zones?
I can see this is a way to manage each pair - what I was looking for is a signal that says market conditions have changed and now is the time to close the basket, taking profit or preventing the large losses. It could well be wrong and the market blasts through the support/resistance levels but when it is right and prevents the large losses, then we live for another day and protect the profits banked.
An alternative would be to tighten stop losses as a pair approaches support and resistance levels. I do this manually when I am watching (and I hear you say MAD_EA is best managed manually!) but there are those times when I can't be close to the screen and MPTM has not stopped these losses.

Sure.. trend line break (TDMTL works well for me) or a strength/weakness exit for pair specific. If you are looking as a basket then equity jumping stop perhaps.
Also time based exits still cut the mustard. Remember Bob's wise words of checking from halfway through a session? Of course if you can't check then perhaps just close all anyway. I like around 12 - 1pm GMT and 5 - 6pm GMT respectively.
