First of all many thanks to Steve, Gertje and everyone who contribute on this forum.
I'm running Gertje set files from his demo auto account on a live account and everything looks good after 4 weeks as you can see in the report. Same as Gertje I got CADJPY and NZDJPY close at profit this week.

I also ran 1M tests with different settings in the last 2 months, inlcuding those posted here, however results were quite different and bad. I read all posts and manuals but I have a feeling I missed or didn't understand something. The open of trades was good and lots of trades closing at 4 pip profit. However after market goes the wrong direction, let's say I have an EURUSD buy and market goes down, the EA start to sell, making small proffits while drawdown increase. When finally the market reverse I get stucked with a buy at top and a sell at the bottom, there is no new buy and no recovery. After about 1 month 90% of pairs were stucked like this in between a top buy and a bottom sell. I can't put any screenshots as I gave up on the tests. From everything I read this is not what should happen.

Before I add the filter, can you confirm please that you mean an HGI signal in the here-and-now, rather than the most recent one.
Hi Steve,

The most recent signal in the peaky zone whether it be Hgi Trend or Hgi wavy would be fine rather than the here and now. I normally wait for the close of the 4 hr candle at any rate before deciding to enter a trade. it does not matter even if it is 5 candles later, as long as we are in the peaky zone.

Many thanks for looking.

Cheers
Leon

Hi Leon :hi:

Yes I also noticed that something wasn't right but I've been too busy to investigate.

The DD problem made me go back to the original peaky and while watching it place orders,
I thought that the operation of the followAdverseMarketWithStopOrders didn't look right.

I asked 2 people if they had seen a problem with this particular function but I didn't get a reply
and I forgot to get back to it.

cheers

Anyway, I won't spend more time on this because there are better EA's available.
I was only looking at it because I was thinking to trade Gertje's manual method but I have changed my mind.
Good luck folks :hi:

I agree but you sound a tad on the dismissive side; best not to when describing EA's I have coded.

I have returned to testing the bot as a result of Gertje's contributions here. It has done ok this week and I will be posting results tomorrow.

You might care to rethink your approach? Only a suggestion. Gertje has made mahoosive contributions to SHF and is one of its most respected members. There are those here who take absolutely no notice of anything I write under any circumstances. I trust you are not one of those.

Hi Steve :hi:

I don't disagree and of course you are a brilliant coder but this EA needs more work.

I don't know if you recall, but Gertje and some others had a problem with EA versions after 1e
and as their concerns weren't addressed, they stopped at V1e.

I then took V1e and did some changes but the DD keeps coming back.
Edit: I just looked at the EA again and I think it could due to my settings.

Anyway if we were to continue testing, we should perhaps use the same version EA?
I will send you a PM.

Regards
Bill

I think I worked out my DD problem.
Here is a late night idea

Maybe the answer is to run 1 EA per timeframe.
For example we would have 1 EA placed on the 1H chart and then we would have the 1H TF enabled in the EA settings.

And If we want to trade more timeframes, we would have to open a new chart with the timeframe of our choice, eg the 15M , place a 2nd copy of the EA on the 15M chart. enable the 15M timeframe in the EA settings, make sure we have the same magic number as EA1 BUT we should disable all the take profit functions of the 2nd EA, because those functions will be performed by the 1st EA and it will be looking for basket closure Or symbol closure.

I better get ready for bed before Gertje sees my post and corrects me :jump: :jump: :jump:

Unless I have picked up the wrong end of the stick , Gertje's POS fully auto demo is just amazing I have been following it for quite a while now and it is rocking !!!!

Hi Ian :hi:

Yes that account is doing fine.
Gertje is running it on 1 timeframe and is taking profit on the 6th.

He also grouped pairs together and by doing so he worked around the issue we had where the trades of some pairs were placed too close to each other, and were making recovery difficult.
Newer EA's address this issue by using ATR in their grid trades.

I was using a different approach.
I was trying to make the EA work on all 4 TF's because I wanted the increased gains
and I also wanted to take profit in baskets and to be in and out quickly because I wanted to lower my risk.

However, when we use this approach baskets close quickly and the extra pips we are trying to get using multiple time frames, we are probably giving them straight back because we don't let the trades of the higher time frames run for long enough.

Anyway I believe the 4TF idea has merit so I'm not giving up on it
but I don't believe that it can be achieved with the EA as is.

Try turning the function "fill the gap inputs" to true
set the MaxDistancePips to 70 and Max trades to let's say 15
Let me know if this helps

The other thing you can do is to help the EA close trades which have the potential to create problems.
You can switch input" SymbolTradesBelongToBasket" to true
Set input SymboMinTradesOpenForBasket=5 (or 6 or 7 depending on how soon you want the trades to close) and SymbolBasketcashTakeProfit =1 (or some other low TP)

Cheers
