I am bumfluxed, can someone take a look at my settings?

For some reason, my lot size is locked in and setting pending trades, at 0.10 lots. Right now, I am at $6,900 equity, so with $1,500 dollops I should have a trading size of .04 lots. I've gone through the settings a dozen times. What am I missing here? Including my set file as well.

Hello MMan
The settings look ok, have you tried loading a different set file or an earlier version of the EA?
Sometimes the loaded set file contains other parameters which upset the EA's.
For example, sometimes I accidentally loaded a Peaky or Awesome set file to the Slopey and visa versa.

Failing that, why don't you load the EA again on top of the existing one and import the same set or different set file?

To see what size trades the EA places, I would pick a pair which has a recent grid of 5 pending orders,
delete them and then wait for the EA to replace them.
Sometimes the placement of new orders is immediate, sometimes it takes a while
You can switch timeframes on the chart which has the EA (up and down a few levels) and see if that triggers new orders.

Maybe your broker’s account has a minimum lot of 0.10?

That is a curious one. Have you tried shutting down and restarting the platform?

I have shut it down several times. Even logged out of my VPS then back in. This is a really screwy item, it happens with Versions 1w, 1z and now 2c. I also tried deleting mlqcache. No joy. Traders Way is my current broker and the SPB SPB 1w demo I have running with them is fine. This demo is located on my desktop confuser, and the trouble-making live account is on the VPS.

I can't work on it anymore today, but tomorrow I'll get a new download from TW and bring all it up from scratch.

Latest version 2d is in post 1. Thomas is finding in his testing that closing trades merely because there is a new peak hilo is reducing profits, so there is a new input in the Peaky inputs section:
  • CloseAllWhenPeakyChanges: this tells SPB to:
    • Close buy trades following a new high.
    • Close sell trades following a new low.
I have added the rolling grid feature that I added to Desky last week. Fancy a DIY for all this?

Do a search for, ""extern int NoOfBarsOnChart" and add this underneath:
extern bool CloseAllWhenPeakyChanges=false;

Go to bool LookForTradeClosure(int ticket, int PairIndex). Scroll down to:

I sure hope this doesn't result in "Egads you dimwit"! :oops:

I completely reinstalled Empty4 and loaded SPB V 2d.

When I change LotsPerDollopOfCash from 0.0 to 0.01 the screen returns the Lot Size as 0.10. In fact, it seems that any number other than 0.0 returns 0.10.

Now that I see it, my workaround is simple, manually change the Lot size to my desired size and LotsPerDollopOfCash to 0.0.

In fact, this reminded me to play with lots per dollop. I am finding that whatever I enter into LotsPerDollopOfCash then shows up as the lot size on the screen.

Looks like the lots per dollop calculation has been broken somehow. I will have a look tomorrow.

V 2e is in post 1.

It turns out that I had not quite implemented something Thomas wanted. He wanted SPB closing trades when both the HTF SS had changed to the opposite colour AND Peaky was pointing in the wrong direction. Thomas sent me the code he wanted earlier.

The easiest way to DIY is to copy the attached code over the top of the existing function. It is a long function that would be awkward to copy from a post, so I have put it into a script code:
  • Go to: bool LookForTradeClosure(int ticket, int PairIndex)
  • Open the attached in your editor and copy the contents to your clipboard.
  • Delete the existing function and replace it with the new one.
