OK, question: everyone seems to be jumping in on a basket today. But looking at the candidate pairs, it looks to me like they were mostly already past the DP, and many are past the 5ma1. What were you all using for an entry signal today? Is it just "Monday morning, jump on the existing trend," or am I missing something?

Gary,

For my trades, price had retraced back over the MA and then resumed in the direction of the trend, thereby meeting the trigger guidelines

Price didn't retrace as far as the DP, but did cross the MA on all my pairs and given the strength of signals (I am only trading </> +/- 0.8) I took the basket which is currently up 125 pips (high of 146 pips)

Speaking only for myself -

AUDCHF - Below DP, jumped in
CADCHF - Right at DP, buy
EURAUD - Below DP, jumped in
EURCAD - Right at DP, sell
EURGBP - Below DP, jumped in
EURJPY - Not qualified on Daily Slope Values, Pivots OK, really jumped in but right at DP
EURNZD - Below DP, jumped in
EURUSD - Above DP, but who isn't bearish EURO? jumped in
GBPCHF - Below DP, jumped in
USDCHF - Below DP, but it is opposite of EURO, so, jumped in

Votes are counted, Jumped in = 8, at Daily Pivot =2

Basket holding at 330 pips, off high of 367, US may make or break but locked in for 100 anyway so got a result that most do not.

And if you read Bob's latest manifesto, the 5 MA's are OUT !!! using only PIVOTS

The 5.1 MA's get you in sooner than a pivot cross at times and I highly recommend having them on your charts for this system. Bob is talking about 10.2a which uses pivots ONLY.

One question. I have noted that if I am "late to the party" on the H4, you can often see profitable retracements on shorter time frames. For example, the EU, CHJ, and EAU have all retraced and cross back below the 5.1 on the 15M timescale.

Are these valid shorts in your view?

After 5 Hours back to my computer to see my basket is performing well.
I put it on just before London open.
selected only 5 pairs to ad to the existing open pairs from Friday.
I easily could have put one 4 pairs extra but that would violate my MM.

pairs selected on the way they retrace and position of the ma 5 which make more sense then a daily pivot IMHO. ;)

P.S. the other yellow/green line is the old weekly open 8-)

I do not look at any chart except the H4. Please note this has nothing to do with my strategy – the 5.1 can be used to enter off a retracement on any TF but it's up to you to look into that for your own strategy. I only use it on the H4.

Same over here the blue Ma displayed on the 1H chart is the same as a 5Ma on the 4H 8-)
