Not so much learning the utility as getting the hang of searching for repeating movements (patterns)

PS: The utility is very straightforward >> it simply 'sticks' a picture you choose onto your screen

Now picture this (pun intended):

a) take a screenshot of any H4 move ( the more peculiar/characteristic/unique, the better )

b) open that screenshot using the overlay utility -> transparent screenshot is now fixed on your screen

c) with Empty4 open, you are now looking at a piece of H4 over the chart of the TF you are searching on [ M5/M15/M30 ].

d) remove (de-select) auto-scroll and chart shift and scroll recent action (1 or 2 months ago) --> and voila, suddenly that M15 move looks like the H4 screenshot...

e) ( if [d] yields nothing, no worries!, move on to next chart, that's what the 28 broker-offered pairs are for! )

Well, you know the Fox,...positive/negative news is just spin, a cover to achieve price objectives quicker

So the EU has gapped over 50 pips down...instant TP for some (instant SL for some)

However, it's gapped at a very nice place to form the 2nd leg of a 'W' on H1

Won't be surprised to see the gap filled. Won't also be surprised if price still barrel down to 1.1000 collecting shorts along the way while the big boys stock up longs for the coming turn-around. Let's see what London and NY bring :)

I wish all the best to the Greek people; whatever happens under the new party in charge, may it be well with their lives and future.

Sorry, I don't see levels well on D1/W1/MN1 ( compression factor ) [ anyway, no need, there's 480 H1 bars in a monthly bar....lots of trade opportunities in those ]

On the H4 though, I think it's a good buy ( right about NOW! ) with a tight stop some pips below the Jan 20 lows

I would trail my stop though, and be on the watch-out for an a-b-c trap forming

Hi guys,

I've been silently reading through this entire thread as well as keeping up with current posts since about November. My charts have also been "naked" since this time, and I feel I have a good understanding of "M"s, "W",s RRTs, levels, pushes, etc, and especially WHERE to look for them (Peak highs/lows, ADR highs/lows, HODs, LODs, etc).

I also like the "ABC" reversal pattern (Same same but different?), and have found Dudest's 73.6% Fib retracement really useful in getting in on a continuation after an ABC or M/W has formed. I've seen both these patterns equally useful on timeframes as high as the weekly or monthly, and surprisingly, even as low as the 1 min (a chart I would have never looked at before, but I have caught a few ABC reversals that have shot straight up 50+ pips from the "C" entry point - amazing!).

Anyway, pattern recognition seems to be the next step, and it seems a few members have really caught on (especially Daggerfall). It also seems that once you "get it", you can't really explain it? :?

Well, I went through some charts this weekend, and found a potential map/pattern on the GBPJPY H4 chart, and was wondering if I'm on the right track here... I'd appreciate if anyone could chime in, thanks :mrgreen:

30m shows some signs this map might work...

ABC down, followed by 3 pushes up with a couple pins at the 73.6% retracement.. *fingers crossed*

Great to hear of your progress, and good on you for posting [ lurkers arise! ] :)

Those same things you mentioned ( Ws, Ms, levels, 73.6 retracements, A-B-C's, RRTs ) are my bread-and-butter. I am also endeavouring to figure out the ad-hoc pattern recognition bit at the moment

I don't think this is so. Simply showing a source and current chart [ like CJ always does ], there's no other explanation needed. It's like the 73.6 retrace; did I have to write long posts about "M,W --> level 1 --> 73.6 --> etc"...? No!, I just started posting up charts with some annotations and you guys got it
