it’s a bit quiet here now bcz I’m running now the long term trader ESW, and the Cable Rider as well. LONG TERM in fact means: before earning some bucks, these bots must run for months – many, many months. Looking the appropriate MFXB links in my “portfolio” it’s easy to understand that these EAs demand strict patience ! You will definitely struggle with long lasting DD periods: 2...3…4 months – a boring and irritating time !

What will you get at the end, after a year or so ? The result of all the torments is a mean monthly gain of 5-6 % (approx. 50-70% p.a. - a great result for any hedge fond) ! 5-6% a month - nothing more – all other attempts of squeezing out more require higher risks and may kill the account bcz of the grid trading this EAs are based on. BUT this kind of grid trading is coded pretty tricky by Jose ! The hedging mechanism included into this EA makes it very save.
The Cable Rider (CR) is much more aggressive then the ESW. Anyway, this aggressive EA could survive a 1000 pips trend yet – and even giving nice gains after the markets reversal ! Although the CR isn’t a possible candidate for live trading - for me – someone with higher risk appetite could use it !
To earn the described possible 60 % p.a. gain it is necessary to catch the “right moment” – that means after the closing of the gap between equity and balance, occuring permanently in wavelike cycles, someone must delete all the trades manually and stop trading. These manual interventions are completely up to the individual goals of any trader.
All in all running this ESW actually since September 2015 I wont add any further comments bcz the picture for this EA is pretty clear for now. I let it run further. Hopefully it will chug along in exactly the same way earning some quiet green pips step by step.
(Yes, of course, I understand this kind of EA trading is very boring and for many trader fellows unacceptable … I apologise. I will post here very rarely, bcz nothing special will happen here using this ESW – at least I hope so ! )

I hope you can use this or make it better.

I have only demo this EA.

Here is what happened:

1. Traded AUDUSD on H4 for about a year

10k became 80k before the EA got caught

going the wrong way and ended in margin call.

2. I decided to try AUDCAD (less volatile) beginning 10-15-2014.

10k now is 27k with no open trades.

Couple things I note are :

A. That the EA may go weeks without trading.

B. The Money Management (you may be familiar)

is very good in my opinion because it will hold

a early winning trade while closing subsequent

profitable trades ...basically eliminating risk.

You can see what I mean on the attached picture

of the long trade from mid November and closing

January 6th.

I had the same issue - had to reload a fresh mtfxbook EA and dll to get it to work.
