Hi Tommaso,

Thanks for pointing out Hurst Trading EA, I have read through all the messages and it now seems that no one
is contibuting to this thread, even Spider seems to have done all he can with EA.
ALthough some contibutors early on mentioned they were getting results no one has since confirmed their
success with this EA.
Will read the thread again and any other about coding a workable EA using Hurst.

Thanks anyway.

Hi TraderJoe,

Thanks for the info reference MAD-EA, Have had a preliminary read and because it deals only with currency is not what I hope eventually to find. I trade indices as well as currencies.

Have you progressed with your own EA or is that still in the pending file. If I had the brains and was a hella lot younger, I'd learn Empty4 coding myself but at 81 it's now a little late. Hell, but I still love trading.

Hi Forextraderaz,

Glad to here from someone who trades using Hurst. If you don't mind me asking, what method are you using. The same as Pedro2 outlined in his early postings or something different. My way is slightly different so it might be interesting to exchange ideas.

Kind Regards

wow.. glad you are still trading at 81

I am progressing with my EA but using it more as a trade helper than full auto. Trying to get the logic right to take away the manual input is what keeps me up at night!

Would you mind sharing the way in which you use Hurst with your trading?

Hi Traderjoeforex,

Sorry for the delay but have builders in so a bit tied up. I view age as only a number, the mind is what you want it to be even if the body is old and no longer as good as it was.

I trade Hurst in a different way as written about by Dr Brian Milliard in his book "Channel Analysis". This was following research by Brian about cycles.
I have attached a screen shot showing the 3 period channels that I use, I have removed HGI from the pic for clarity.

You will see that as the three channels come together directional change usually occurs, if the minor two channels meet change also occurs but the movement is not so much. The only problem with "Hurst Bands" is that they have to be adjusted as the distances between the are not automatically calculated as with Brian Milliards method. Also the vertical distance between the channels lines gives a approxiamate target and when a big move occurs the lines come closer together but the vertical distance is always the same. Note that the extension lines (dotted) are only estimates but even so I watch for them to come together either on the upper or lower boundary, this usually gives a good idea that some change of direction is near.
Whereas using just the TMA's 5 and 11, you can get lots of small signals, which would not help the bank balance if you took every signal.
Also I find that using HGI to show the major signals often helps catch some of the bigger moves. On the 15m time frame they don't always show at the turning point but shortly after, it gives good confirmation.

An example with "HGI" attached in shown in the secont pic. You can see tha both the inner and second channel extension are both bending over but as yet the outer channel bending very slightly, still not a strong turning signal. The HGI signals come after the turn and again along the trend.

One other thing Ive found is that the channels lines go all over the place if you change the TF, so I have mutiple charts loaded and set up for each currency and TF that I want to view.

Hope this gives you an idea how I Trade. Now all I have got to do is try and contact Tommaso about a message I place in a thread in the "Coders Hangout Topic" but had no contact from anyone, it may be in the wrong topic and thread.

Good trading and Regards

Hi Tommaso,

I am sorry to try to contact you via this thread about another matter but I don't know any other way, other than PM you.

I posted a message in "Coders Hangout" in the "Need help with an EA", This was probably the wrong place and I have since read somewhere that Steve said that no coder is going the help anyone who uses a Code Generator. So my question is, How can I find the answer to the problem I outlined if nobody is willing to help me understand Empty4 code.
Should I now delete the this message.

Also I seem to remember seeing that you posted coding lessons. have looked over many threads and so far can't find it help needed.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I now use the Hurst Oscillator in combination with 7 and 14 period LWMA and Hurst Target on D1 and look at lower time frames for confirmation on entries and exits.

Hi Traderjoeforex, can you share in the chart indicator and your temple ? how do you use them? I do not see HGI in your chart. Your results on myfxbook very good. I want to learn from you. Thanks!

For now I suggest you read this thread if you are interested in learning to trade with MA's and will find some of my templates there along with lots of development from other experienced traders too.
